Regarding the incident in which King Seafood Restaurant 3 (Bai Chay Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh) was recently accused by a group of tourists of "ripping off" them after having dinner with a bill of nearly 12 million VND on the 6th day of Tet, the restaurant owner said that the information did not reflect the true nature of the incident.

According to the restaurant owner, Mr. Vu Tri Cuong, before processing the seafood, the restaurant negotiated the price with the group of diners and they agreed.

In addition, the group of diners also looked at the price list posted in the reception area before deciding to order. However, after leaving, they posted information on social media claiming that the restaurant "ripped off" customers with a bill of nearly 12 million VND.

Price list of King of Seafood Restaurant 3.

Specifically, the price list at King of Seafood 3 restaurant is as follows: Grouper 680,000 VND/kg, mantis shrimp 850,000 VND/kg, snails 750,000 VND/kg, flower clams 450,000 VND/kg, shrimp 850,000 VND/kg, oysters 15,000 VND/each,...

With such seafood price list, many people think it is too expensive compared to the general level.

According to a survey at Cai Dam market (a few hundred meters from the restaurant), the prices of seafood here are much lower than the listed price of Vua Hai San 3 restaurant.

Traders at the market said that in recent days, seafood prices have not changed much. For example, the price of flower clams is 180,000 VND/kg (the most expensive during Tet is 200,000 VND/kg), snails are 250,000 VND/kg (during Tet it is 300,000 VND/kg), grouper is 240,000 VND/kg (during Tet it is 450,000 VND/kg), large mantis shrimp is 400,000 VND/kg, and long-legged shrimp is 180,000 VND/kg.

People and tourists come to Cai Dam market, Ha Long city to buy seafood because the price here is cheaper than in restaurants.

However, it is impossible to compare the price of seafood sold in the market with the price sold in the restaurant because the two types of sales are different. If you compare prices, it must be compared to other restaurants in the area.

A survey by VietNamNet reporters at the famous Hong Hanh restaurant chain in Quang Ninh shows that during Tet, many food suppliers increase prices, so the restaurants must also increase prices.

Seafood prices here are as follows: Grouper 550,000 VND/kg (130,000 VND lower than Vua Hai San 3 restaurant), long-legged shrimp 780,000 VND/kg (70,000 VND lower), mantis shrimp 880,000 VND/kg (30,000 VND higher), flower clam 320,000 VND/kg (130,000 VND lower), and snail 680,000 VND/kg (70,000 VND lower).

Not far away is Yen Nhuan restaurant, where grouper is priced at 580,000 VND/kg (100,000 VND cheaper than Vua Hai San 3 restaurant), long-legged shrimp is 680,000 VND/kg (170,000 VND cheaper), fragrant snails are 650,000 VND/kg (100,000 VND cheaper), large mantis shrimp are 680,000 VND/kg (170,000 VND cheaper), large flower clams are 350,000 VND/kg (100,000 VND cheaper).

At Thuy Chung restaurant, except for large snails priced at 780,000 VND/kg, which is 30,000 VND higher than at Vua Hai San 3 restaurant, the prices of most other seafood items are cheaper.

Specifically, flower clams are 320,000 VND/kg (130,000 VND lower), long-legged shrimp are 680,000-700,000 VND/kg depending on the processing method (150,000 VND lower), grouper is 520,000 VND/kg (160,000 VND cheaper), and mantis shrimp is 650,000 VND/kg (200,000 VND lower).

The above data shows that the prices of some seafood at King Seafood 3 restaurant are basically higher than other restaurants in the area.
