Delegates attended the press conference to introduce the Ha - Thuong - Y La Temple Festival.
Attending the meeting were cultural researchers and managers; leaders of some departments, branches, and agencies of the province; leaders of Tuyen Quang city; provincial press agencies, and some central press agencies in the province.
At the meeting, delegates heard about the history and significance of the Mother Goddess procession, the spiritual tradition of the people of Tuyen Quang city; and introduced the Mother Goddess Procession Festival program at Ha Temple, Thuong Temple, and Y La Temple in 2025.
Outstanding activities in the festival include: Procession of the Mother Goddess's palanquin, discussion on promoting the traditional values of Mother Goddess worship and Truc Lam Zen Monastery in the beliefs of Tuyen Quang people; display of royal scarves and robes in the practice of Mother Goddess worship; organization of Tuyen tea space, folk performances combined with music performances, spiritual experiences; sports competitions, folk games at 3 locations: Ha Temple, Thuong Temple, and Y La Temple.
Ha - Thuong - Y La Temple Festival is a national intangible cultural heritage.
The festival begins on March 9 (February 10 of the lunar calendar) with a ceremony at Y La Temple and closes at Ha Temple on March 15 (February 16 of the lunar calendar).
At the meeting, the Organizing Committee discussed and answered reporters' questions about preparations for the festival.
The festival of the procession of the Mother Goddesses at the Lower Temple, the Upper Temple, and the Y La Temple is the biggest festival of Tuyen Quang city, which was born and has existed for a long time, associated with the Mother Goddess worship belief. It is held from the 11th to the 16th of the second lunar month every year.
In 2017, the Festival was recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The festival is an opportunity for the people of all ethnic groups in Tuyen Quang city to respectfully express their gratitude to the merits of the Holy Mother to the ethnic communities living in the area. At the same time, it preserves and promotes the fine traditional cultural values of the nation that have been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, meeting the religious needs of the people who aspire for a better life. Through the festival, it will promote the development of spiritual tourism in Tuyen Quang city.
