Linking production, processing, consumption and export of coffee in Son La

The event is part of a series of activities of the first Son La Coffee Festival in 2023 with the theme "Arabica, Son La Coffee - Flavor of the Northwest Mountains and Forests".

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of Son La Provincial Party Committee emphasized that, implementing the policy of sustainable coffee development, Son La Provincial People's Committee and Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company organized the inauguration and put into operation Son La Coffee Factory in Mai Son district, Son La province.

This is a project that is consistent with the socio-economic development orientation and priority investment attraction areas of the province in the period of 2020-2025. Son La Coffee Factory was invested and constructed in nearly 4 months (from July to October 2023); with a total investment of 260 billion VND, it has a large and modern investment scale with a total processing capacity of 50,000 tons of fresh coffee beans/year (equivalent to 12,500 tons of coffee beans/year), synchronous between the production line and the wastewater and solid waste treatment system.

The inauguration and operation of Son La Coffee Processing Factory is a clear demonstration of the implementation of the Party's guidelines and the State's policies into life; it is expected to bring great benefits to investors, solve challenges and shortcomings in the process of developing coffee trees in the province, contribute to increasing the value of industrial production, the value of goods exported in the province, create more jobs and income for local workers, contribute to the state budget, and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the province.

The inauguration and operation of the Factory creates conditions for coffee growing households, businesses and cooperatives to connect the production chain and sustainable coffee consumption; linking production, processing, consumption and export, bringing high economic efficiency to farmers.

In order for Son La Coffee Factory to operate effectively, Mr. Lo Minh Hung requested Son La Coffee Processing Joint Stock Company to focus resources to operate the Factory according to the approved plan, ensuring quality and progress as committed, and complying with legal regulations.

Son La province commits to accompany the Company in developing safe and sustainable raw material areas, ensuring the supply of coffee materials for the Factory; promptly removing difficulties and obstacles in the operation process; ensuring the harmony of interests between the State, enterprises and people; striving to build Son La province to develop greenly, quickly and sustainably as set out in the Resolution of the 13th Provincial Party Congress.

It is known that Son La Coffee Processing Factory has a capacity of 12,500 tons of coffee beans/year and is expected to stabilize the output for coffee growers, linking production, processing, consumption and export in Son La in particular and the Northwest region in general, creating more jobs for local workers.
