It is a great honor but the responsibility towards the heritage is also very heavy.
Over the past decade, the two provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh have made continuous efforts to come up with many solutions to protect, raise awareness, and diversify and popularize folk song practices in the community.

In particular, the agreement to alternately organize the Vi and Giam folk song festival between the two provinces is a practical work within the national action program and is also a vivid demonstration affirming to the international community Vietnam's commitment to preserving and promoting the values of intangible cultural heritage representing humanity.

In order for the Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk song heritage to continue to shine, continue the success and promote positive results after 4 festival events, this year, the Nghe An Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with Ha Tinh province to organize the Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam Folk Song Festival in 2023.
This is one of the activities in the Vi-Giam Folk Song Festival program with the theme "Vi-Giam - Shining Essence" held for the first time in Nghe An , marking the beginning of a series of events before the 10th anniversary of Vi-Giam folk songs being recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity (2014-2024).

The festival is also an opportunity for artisans to exchange and learn valuable experiences, thereby promoting the Nghe Tinh folk song singing movement in sectors and organizations, striving for all classes of people to love, know how to sing and appreciate the many values of Vi and Giam folk songs.
In Nghe An, the cluster-level festival will be held at 4 locations: Dien Chau District (Cluster I), Anh Son District (Cluster II), Nam Dan District (Cluster III) and Thai Hoa Town (Cluster IV). From the cluster-level festivals, the 12 best clubs will be selected along with 8 clubs from Ha Tinh province to participate in the inter-provincial festival taking place in early August in Vinh City.
