Nearly 2 billion VND to build a model of linking OCOP products from deer antlers

Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai has just signed a decision on the detailed allocation of the 2023 development investment capital plan from the central budget to implement the OCOP Program.

Deer velvet is deeply processed into many high quality products, creating added value.

Accordingly, 1,940 billion VND was allocated to the People's Committee of Son Giang Commune (Huong Son) to implement a pilot model under the OCOP Program for the period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 1528/QD-BNN-VPDP dated April 14, 2023 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committee of Son Giang commune (investor) to urgently complete the documents and procedures for implementing the model according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; arrange counterpart funds from the commune budget and mobilize other legal capital sources for integration into implementation; be responsible to the Provincial People's Committee and inspection, examination and auditing agencies... in managing and implementing the allocated capital.

Huong Son District People's Committee directs and guides Son Giang Commune People's Committee in the process of implementing the model according to current regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development; arranges additional counterpart funds from the district budget and mobilizes other legal sources to integrate the model implementation.

Huong Son district currently has more than 38,000 deer, mainly concentrated in the communes of Quang Diem, Son Giang, Son Trung, Son Tay, Son Ham... In recent years, the district's deer antler output has fluctuated between 15 - 16 tons, worth more than 170 billion VND.

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Provincial New Rural Development Coordination Office direct, urge and guide the People's Committee of Son Giang commune to implement the model according to current regulations; promptly grasp difficulties and problems. Relevant departments, branches and units, according to their functions and tasks, support and guide the People's Committee of Son Giang commune to implement.

On April 14, 2023, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development issued Decision No. 1528/QD-BNN-VPDP approving the list of pilot models under the OCOP Program for the period 2021-2025 (phase 2).

According to the approved list, Ha Tinh has a pilot model of building a chain linking OCOP products from deer antlers associated with community development in resource management and biodiversity conservation in Son Giang commune, Huong Son district.
