Nearly 1/3 of high schools in Ho Chi Minh City have 10th grade benchmark scores below 5 points/subject.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training has announced the 10th grade public admission benchmark scores for 2024.

Among 108 schools in the city, many high schools have very low admission scores.

Accordingly, there are 34 schools with a benchmark score of less than 5 points/subject. There are 39 schools with a benchmark score of 5 points or less. There are 3 schools with the lowest benchmark score of 3.5 points/subject: Binh Khanh High School, Cau Thanh High School and An Nghia High School.

At the top, the highest admission score belongs to Nguyen Thuong Hien High School with 8.08 points. Nguyen Thuong Hien School is also the only school to use this score.

The remaining 9 schools in the top 10 schools with the highest standard scores are from 7.5-7.75 points.

The way to calculate the admission score for grade 10 in Ho Chi Minh City is different from Hanoi because it does not include a coefficient of 2 for math and literature.

The calculation formula is as follows:

Admission score = Literature score + Math score + Foreign language score + Priority score (if any).
