ANTD.VN - In early November, FrieslandCampina, a corporation with a legacy of over 150 years owning the brands Dutch Lady Milk, Friso, Yomost..., was named in the category "Sustainable Innovation Value Chain 2024" within the framework of the Sustainable Development Award organized by the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EuroCham) in Singapore.

The award is a recognition of FrieslandCampina Group's strong commitment to sustainable development innovation and efforts for positive change in Asia in the context of global climate change, environmental crisis and resource depletion. This is also the guiding principle for all activities of the world's leading nutrition group, focusing on bringing value to consumers with Dutch-standard nutrition, while focusing on sustainable development as well as creating a solid future for future generations in the most balanced way with our planet.

Specifically in the dairy production sector, FrieslandCampina factories in Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and the Philippines are applying energy-saving systems, helping to reduce emissions, optimize energy use, and promote responsible nutrition supply on the group's development journey.
For example, at its Cikarang plant in Indonesia, the group has reduced CO₂ emissions by 45% through the use of solar panels, biomass boilers and advanced water management systems, while at its new plant in Bandar Enstek (Malaysia), the group aims to reduce energy and water consumption by 30% by 2030.

In Vietnam, FrieslandCampina is proud to be one of the first foreign enterprises to pioneer the implementation of a green production model, minimizing emissions, aiming for green growth and contributing to the community. To achieve this, FrieslandCampina Vietnam has soon put forward long-term strategies and realized this goal by focusing on using green energy, saving and reusing water; pioneering the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility - EPR, packaging circulation and minimizing plastic waste in the supply chain.
Since 2019, FrieslandCampina Vietnam and 8 other companies have co-founded the Vietnam Recycled Packaging Alliance (PRO Vietnam) with the mission of enhancing the recycling collection capacity of alliance members, promoting the circular economy for a Green - Clean - Beautiful Vietnam. Up to now, the factories have implemented and maintained the commitment of "No waste to landfill", ensuring that all waste is collected and treated in an environmentally friendly manner.

The company’s factories in Binh Duong and Ha Nam have replaced 100% of diesel with biomass steam to reduce tens of thousands of tons of CO2 emissions each year. As a result, from 2015 to 2023, these two factories have reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 98%, making the most of solar energy, optimizing energy consumption, and using biomass steam systems.
