Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Hoang Trung - Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development - said that the agricultural sector in general, and the Vietnamese rice sector in particular, have created a clear image and mark and achieved remarkable achievements. The Vietnam - Hau Giang International Rice Festival 2023 will take place from December 11 to 14, 2023 in Vi Thanh city, Hau Giang province. The event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People's Committee of Hau Giang province.

In particular, at this Festival, the Prime Minister will officially announce the approval of the Project "Sustainable development of one million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030". This will convey the message and commitment of the Vietnamese Government on reducing greenhouse gas emissions announced by the Prime Minister at the COP26 Conference.
The project aims to establish 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice cultivation areas with the goal of reorganizing the rice production system according to the value chain, applying sustainable farming processes.
