Binh Thuan Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh Road, nearly 8 km long, connecting Dau Giay - Phan Thiet expressway to coastal tourist areas south of Phan Thiet, will be put into operation before April 30 holiday.
The information was announced by Mr. Nguyen Huu Trung, Director of the Project Management Board for Investment and Construction of Traffic Works of Binh Thuan Province (investor) on April 13.
Currently, the construction volume of Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh road has reached more than 75% of the contract. Contractors are increasing vehicles, machinery, equipment, and human resources, speeding up the progress to put it into operation before the April 30 holiday.

The Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh road project (from National Highway 1 to Provincial Road 719B) has a total investment of nearly 420 billion VND from the provincial budget, starting construction in November 2021. The route is 7.7 km long; the road surface is 8 m on each side, the median strip is 9 m, and the sidewalk is 6 m on each side.
This project connects the coastal road DT 719B in Tien Thanh commune (Phan Thiet) to National Highway 1 in Ham Kiem commune (Ham Thuan Nam) - where there is a 2.5 km access road connecting to Dau Giay - Phan Thiet and Phan Thiet - Vinh Hao expressways at Ba Bau intersection.

When the road is completed, tourists from the south and Ho Chi Minh City, if they want to go straight to the tourist areas in the south of Phan Thiet (Tien Thanh, Ho Gio, Ke Ga, La Gi) will not have to go to Phan Thiet and then turn back to Tien Thanh as before. Instead, cars from the highway to the intersection of National Highway 1 can go straight to the beach, shortening the distance by nearly 20 km.
According to the investor, the biggest difficulty that has delayed the project's progress in the past is the land clearance of more than 1.3 km at the production area of Hoang Hau Dragon Fruit Company in Ham Kiem commune.

On March 29, the landowner's representative accepted compensation and handed over the site. In recent days, 515 Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company has been deploying vehicles and a team of engineers and workers to complete the unfinished construction.
Previously, the 6.4 km of Ham Kiem - Tien Thanh route had been completed with asphalt paving, road markings and traffic safety items. The bridges along the route (Suoi Nho, Bau Ca Dam, Suoi Sop) were also basically completed.
