Phu Thanh and Phu Le are two poor communes in the mountainous district of Quan Hoa. Due to the mountainous terrain, harsh climate, and frequent natural disasters, the lives of the people are still difficult and lacking in all aspects, especially health care. Therefore, the main activity of the "Green Summer 2023" program is to organize free medical examinations and medicine distribution for the people here.
On May 20 and 21, 2023, a team of pharmacists from Hanoi University of Pharmacy, volunteer doctors from Hanoi Medical University Hospital, with the support of Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company's staff, examined internal and external patients and dispensed medicine to more than 400 people. Many people were diagnosed with diseases and advised on appropriate health care methods.
Many people came early to be examined by doctors.
Ms. Pham Thi Thon (79 years old, En village, Phu Thanh commune) was one of the early people who came to see a doctor. She often suffered from joint pain in her hands and feet, dizziness, and lightheadedness, but her house was dozens of kilometers away from the district hospital, so she had never been to see a doctor. Therefore, when she heard about the free medical examination program, she asked her daughter to take her there. After the examination, she was diagnosed with cerebral circulation disorder and osteoarthritis and was given some medicine and the product Tam Binh Joint Pill. “I was very happy to be examined and given free medicine. I just hope that there will be many more programs like this organized locally,” she said.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang - Deputy General Director of Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company examines and gives free medicine to people.
Mr. Ha Van Cuoi, Secretary of the Youth Union of Phu Thanh commune, said that the commune has welcomed many charity groups to the locality to give gifts and build roads, but this is the first time there is a program to examine patients and provide medicine. Therefore, the people are very excited and enthusiastic. Although the road is far away, many people come very early to wait for the doctors to examine them.
“Because it is a highland commune with low income and difficult life conditions, people do not have the conditions to take care of their health. The district hospital is far away, so most people let minor illnesses heal on their own, and only go to the hospital for serious illnesses. Therefore, free medical examination and medicine distribution activities like this will help people have the opportunity to grasp their health status early. Many thanks to the Youth Volunteer Team of Hanoi University of Pharmacy and Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company for organizing such a practical and meaningful activity,” he shared.
Within the framework of the program, Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company also donated bookshelves to Phu Thanh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities and Phu Thanh Kindergarten; awarded 12 scholarships to poor students in Phu Thanh and Phu Le communes; and presented 2 gifts including rice, milk and cash to 2 families with especially difficult circumstances, Mr. Ha Van Duong (Sai village, Phu Le commune) and Mr. Ha Van Doat (Tan Phuc village, Phu Le commune)...
Tam Binh Pharmaceutical representative presented gifts and cash to Mr. Ha Van Duong's family.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hoang - Deputy General Director of Tam Binh Pharmaceutical Company, also a lecturer at Hanoi University of Pharmacy, shared: "Heart for the community" is one of Tam Binh's core values. Therefore, every year, the company always allocates a part of its budget for charity activities such as medical examination, free medicine distribution, giving gifts to the poor, people in remote areas, etc. By sponsoring "Green Summer 2023", Tam Binh wants to contribute to social security and community health care. At the same time, it creates opportunities for pharmacy students to gain practical experience, apply the knowledge learned at school to help people, nurture love for patients so that they can become good doctors in the future, contributing to the pharmaceutical industry of our country".
Captain of the Hanoi University of Pharmacy Youth Volunteer Team, Nguyen Van Trang shared: “Green Summer” is one of the two biggest volunteer programs of our team this year. We are very happy to receive sponsorship from Tam Binh Pharmaceuticals. Thanks to this funding source, we did not have to reduce the scale of the program, did not have to cut down on some types of medicine, but also bought some functional foods to give away for free to the people. We hope that in the following programs, the Hanoi University of Pharmacy Youth Volunteer Team will continue to receive the support of Tam Binh Pharmaceuticals.”
