In Ho Chi Minh City, when candidates were about to finish the Foreign Language exam, many districts in Ho Chi Minh City such as District 1, Binh Thanh, Tan Binh, Go Vap... suddenly had heavy rain. The exam support force enthusiastically provided umbrellas and raincoats to parents and candidates.
At the Nguyen Thuong Hien High School exam site (Tan Binh District), candidates happily left after finishing the Foreign Language exam. Because this is the final exam of the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, all candidates said they were very comfortable and happy to have completed the important exam.
At the exam site of Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, candidate Mai Nguyen Gia Linh, a 12A7 student at Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, said that the English exam was 4 pages long, equivalent to the length of previous years' exams.
"I only had difficulty with the question about finding idioms because the content was quite strange. The remaining questions were familiar, the vocabulary was not too difficult, especially the question about finding synonyms and antonyms, the answer could be guessed. Therefore, I think this year's exam was within my ability," Gia Linh expressed.
Similarly, candidate Khanh Bao, a 12th grader at Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, shared that he had nearly 30 minutes left over out of the total 60 minutes of test time. This year, this candidate took the university entrance exam in 3 subjects: Math, Literature and English, so he was quite confident with the results of the final exam.
This candidate said that the topic of his reading comprehension was about stuntmen and scientists, so the vocabulary was not too difficult. He quickly completed all the questions of the test easily.
For Hien Trang, a student of class 12A1, Nguyen Thuong Hien High School, her exam code has a reading comprehension topic about the addiction to electronic devices of today's youth. This is a familiar topic so she feels comfortable doing the test.
In the question about idioms, Hien Trang said she "guessed" the answer, but in the question about finding synonyms, she could infer the answer. This candidate said she expected to get 8-9 points in Foreign Language.

"The structure of the exam closely follows the 2023 sample exam of the Ministry of Education and Training and the exam questions of previous years. In general, the exam does not have difficult questions, the grammar questions fall into the 12th grade program. The differentiation questions fall into the vocabulary and idioms section" - Mr. Tran Ngoc Huu Phuoc, English teacher, Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1).
At the exam site of Tran Van On Secondary School (District 1), candidate Pham Minh Thu, a student of class 12A10, Ernst Thalmann High School (District 1) said that the exam was easier than she expected. This candidate said that she answered 100% of the questions so she predicted that she would get at least 8 points.
Minh Thu shared that the test content closely followed the content of the school review, so she did not encounter many difficulties when doing the test. This year, Minh Thu applied for university admission with a combination of Math, Literature and English. After completing all the exams, this candidate confidently said that she had met her university admission goal.
According to quick statistics from the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, in the Foreign Language exam on the afternoon of June 29, Ho Chi Minh City was absent 305 candidates.
In Hanoi , candidate Nguyen Van Thai, a student at Hermann Gmeiner Private High School (Hanoi) left the exam room with a bright smile. He said the English test was easy and he got about 8 points.
Candidate Dang Tam, Yen Hoa High School (Cau Giay, Hanoi) said that the English test was within his ability, without many difficult questions, so he got about 9 points. He will use his Math, Physics, English, or Math, Physics, Chemistry scores to apply to the University of Technology (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) or Hanoi University of Science and Technology, depending on which combination result is higher.

Some candidates also agreed that the English test consisted of 50 relatively easy questions, with only a few difficult questions. If you study English well, you can get 8-9 points.
Tran Hoang Minh, a student from Luong The Vinh Private High School, said that even though he had an IELTS 7.0 certificate, he still took the test. He scored himself above 9 points, which was easier than last year's test. This year's English test did not differentiate much because there were only a few really difficult questions.

Candidate Le Thao Van, who took the exam at Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary and High School (Cau Giay, Hanoi), said that the English test was easy, with about 2-3 questions that were a little more difficult in terms of vocabulary, while the rest of the grammar and pronunciation were basic. Most candidates said that the English test was easy, taking only half of the time to complete the test.
Thus, the 2023 High School Graduation Exam with over 1 million candidates has ended.

The Ministry of Education and Training said the results of the high school graduation exam are expected to be announced at 8 a.m. on July 18.
At 5:00 p.m. today, the Ministry of Education and Training held a press conference to announce the exam results.
