Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory to be put into operation this year

After 2 years of construction, Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory (under Thanh Cong Group) is focusing on completing the final items. Inspecting the project progress on the morning of September 14, Comrade Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the efforts of the investor and requested to maintain the committed progress. He directed the departments and branches to continue supporting this key project.

Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile Factory, invested by Thanh Cong Group, is built on an area of 36.5 hectares; capacity of 120,000 vehicles/year; designed as a place to manufacture and assemble Skoda brand cars under the investment cooperation program of the leading Czech automobile company with Thanh Cong Group.

Reporting to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, after 2 years of construction, the main items of the factory are basically completed, including: Welding, painting, assembly, electromechanical workshop systems and auxiliary works such as LPG station, compressed air station, test track... The quality control functional areas have completed the test run in early May 2024. For equipment items, construction has reached over 90% of the total volume and will be completed next October to move to the trial operation phase and will officially produce the first batches of cars at the end of 2024, supplying the market in 2025.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactive and positive spirit of the investor, who focused resources and human resources to ensure the completion of the factory on schedule.

According to the plan, in the first phase of operation, the factory will assemble SUV and B-class Sedan segments suitable for the current tastes and consumption trends of Vietnamese people. In the next phase, it will expand to environmentally friendly electric vehicles. This is also the first automobile factory project in Quang Ninh, one of the new processing and manufacturing industrial products of the province.

Directly inspecting the progress, listening to reports and recommendations from the investor and related departments and branches, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the proactive and positive spirit of the investor, who focused resources and human resources to ensure the completion of the factory on schedule.

He emphasized: The recent storm No. 3 caused severe damage to many projects in the province, however, the factory's infrastructure did not suffer any major damage, which proves that the quality of the project is currently very good.

The selection and arrangement of the location to build the factory in Viet Hung clearly shows the province's interest in the orientation of forming a new automobile manufacturing center of the country. Because this is a very convenient area, easily connected to all transport infrastructure such as aviation, seaports, railways and especially the inter-regional expressway system.

The goal is that by the end of 2024, the factory will officially produce its first automobile products, which is very important. This is not only a premise for implementing the policy of attracting automobile industry projects using modern, smart, and environmentally friendly technology to the province, but also a positive lever to attract and gather many businesses in the automobile support industry, manufacturing components and spare parts, especially those with high technology content.

This will create products with high added value, contribute greatly to the state budget, create jobs for thousands of workers, develop the local economy in a sustainable direction, in line with the Government's orientation in the goal of increasing the localization rate and increasing autonomy in automobile production in Vietnam.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the investor put the factory into operation by the end of 2024.

To ensure the progress of the project, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also directed the sectors and localities to continue to accompany and promptly remove difficulties and obstacles. In particular, Ha Long City is required to quickly complete the planning of subdivisions No. 6 and 13. On that basis, the investor will implement the next steps such as investing in workers' housing, 220kV power lines and 110kV transformer stations; upgrading Ha Long Pearl Hotel so that Thanh Cong Group can serve the need to attract high-quality human resources for the automobile complex and provide Ha Long tourism industry with high-quality resort hotel products.

Along with that, relevant departments and branches continue to support and remove difficulties in land resources so that investors can continue to promote the implementation of Thanh Cong Viet Hung Automobile and Supporting Industry Complex; deploy the project to renovate and expand Road 279 so that the factory can operate smoothly and safely.

Quang Ninh will continue to accompany and promptly report to the Government and the Ministry of Planning and Investment so that the Complex can enjoy preferential policies such as High-Tech Parks or Economic Zones to create attractiveness and enhance competitiveness when the factory comes into operation.
