On the morning of December 11, the Thua Thien Hue Department of Tourism announced that after more than 3 years of absence due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, the Diamond Princess cruise ship returned to Chan May port to bring hundreds of tourists to visit the ancient capital of Hue.

Notably, according to the plan, in December, there will be 2 more Diamond Princess cruises arriving at Chan May port on the 19th and 29th, each carrying 2,800 passengers and more than 1,000 crew members.
Diamond Princess is one of the famous 5-star cruise ships in the world, owned and operated by Princess Cruises with a capacity of more than 2,800 guests.
According to Chan May Port Joint Stock Company and cruise ship passenger companies, after a period affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, international cruise lines have begun to recover strongly with many cruise companies registering to bring passengers to Chan May port.

In 2023, Chan May Port welcomed 24 registered cruise ships, bringing about 23,000 international tourists to Thua Thien Hue. By the end of this year, Chan May Port will welcome 6 more international cruise ships.
The leader of the Department of Tourism of Thua Thien Hue province added that in the first 11 months of 2023, the number of visitors to Hue is estimated at more than 2.7 million, an increase of 49.6% over the same period last year.
Of which, international visitors are estimated at more than 942.2 thousand arrivals, up 370% over the same period last year; domestic visitors are estimated at more than 1.8 million arrivals, up 10.9% over the same period last year.
