This area is located in Akaigawa village, 43km west of Sapporo city. It attracts tourists with its deep snow and unique terrain. Kiroro is famous for "Japow" - a type of powder snow unique to Japan and is considered Hokkaido's top ski paradise.

Kiroro Snow World was established in 1991. This is one of the new but impressive ski resorts located in the Kiroro resort complex, located in Hokkaido province.
