Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, Chairman of the Board of the Academy of Finance, said that the 2023 admission score to the school is likely to remain the same or increase by about 0.5 points compared to last year.
Benchmark scores for hot industries in 2023 will fluctuate little. |
Representatives of many schools said that this year's hot majors will fluctuate little, only within a very small range, about 0.25 - 0.5 points.
Hanoi University of Science and Technology
Dr. Le Dinh Nam, Deputy Head of Admissions Department, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, predicts that the benchmark scores for majors nationwide may increase slightly. However, except for some hot majors, most benchmark scores based on high school graduation exam results for majors at Hanoi University of Science and Technology will tend to decrease.
Specifically, for some hot majors with high competition levels such as Information Technology, this year's benchmark score is likely to increase slightly, especially when some IT admission codes last year did not take the high school graduation exam results.
For the Automation, Mechatronics and Mathematics - Information Technology groups, the benchmark may remain the same or not change significantly. For most of the remaining programs, the benchmark may decrease.
Explaining this forecast, Mr. Nam said that based on statistics, the number of candidates choosing the Natural Sciences block, the source of enrollment for schools focusing on recruiting in blocks A00, A01, B00, D07 such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, decreased compared to previous years.
Along with the current diverse admission methods, many candidates with good abilities have been admitted through early admission methods. "This is also one of the bases for assessing the admission scores to Hanoi University of Science and Technology will decrease compared to previous years," said Mr. Nam.
Academy of Finance
Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung, Chairman of the Board of the Academy of Finance, said that this year's admission score is likely to remain the same or increase by about 0.5 points compared to last year.
“The reason is that this year the school has increased the admission quota from its own methods to ensure safety. This year’s exam is also considered not difficult. Therefore, the benchmark score based on the high school graduation exam results can remain the same or increase by about 0.5 points, especially for top schools.”
National Economics University
Meanwhile, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Duc Trieu, Head of Training Management Department, National Economics University, predicted that this year, university admission scores based on high school graduation exam scores will remain stable as last year.
For hot majors that attract candidates' attention such as Marketing, International Business, Logistics and Supply Chain Management... with a benchmark score of over 28 last year (meaning candidates must score an average of 9.5 points/subject), according to Mr. Trieu, it is difficult to increase this year. However, candidates must also score over 28 points in the high school graduation exam to have a chance of being admitted.
Mr. Trieu predicts that this year's benchmark score will fluctuate within a very small range, about 0.25 - 0.5 points.
"Parents and students can refer to last year's benchmark scores to set appropriate wishes," informed the Head of Training Department of National Economics University.
Previously, admissions experts also predicted that the university admission scores based on high school graduation exam scores at top schools would decrease, especially, there would be very few majors with a 30-point admission score for a combination of 3 subjects like previous years.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade
Mr. Pham Thai Son, Director of Admissions at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, said that university admissions based on high school graduation exam scores this year will be "more intense" than last year.
The expected admission score will be 0.5 - 1 lower than last year for many mid-ranked universities.
The benchmark scores for the top universities are still as high as last year, around 24-28 points, but are likely to decrease. The benchmark scores for the majors in the C00, C04, C03 groups are expected to be high, from 25-29 points to be admitted to the top universities.
The reason is that the rate of registration for graduation exams in Social Sciences is higher than in Natural Sciences and the exam is also considered "easier".
At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade, Mr. Son predicted that the admission score based on high school graduation exam scores would be about 0.25 - 1 point lower than last year. The reason is that this year's enrollment quota is higher than last year's and the number of early admission applications submitted to the school is only more than 1/3 of last year's. In addition, the school is determined not to reduce admission scores based on high school transcripts.
