According to Dong Nai Provincial Police, through two resistance wars against France and the US and performing international duties, protecting the Fatherland's borders, tens of thousands of Dong Nai province's children went to war, directly fighting or indirectly serving in combat on all battlefields and thousands of people fell, including many martyrs whose remains have not been found, recovered or whose identities have not been determined.
Organizing the collection of DNA samples for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and relatives of martyrs whose identities have not been determined is considered an important solution, applying scientific advances to increase the effectiveness of identifying the remains of those who have passed away.

It is expected that during this period, the units will receive information and collect more than 120 DNA samples from relatives of martyrs to determine the identities of 64 unidentified martyrs.
The sampling program is implemented in two ways. For mothers who are still in good health and can travel, the local government, health sector and police will organize a shuttle to take the mothers to the sampling point. For mothers who are elderly and have difficulty traveling, the working group will go to the mothers' homes to collect samples for DNA testing.
On this occasion, to express gratitude to the martyrs' families, the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the Women's Union, the Trade Union, the Youth Union of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order and the police of communes, wards and towns presented gifts to the martyrs' relatives.
