Support Ly Son garlic specialty
Recently, on August 17, 2024, the Ly Son garlic specialty promotion event took place with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the People's Committee and farmers of Ly Son island district and the Nam Ngu brand of Masan Consumer Goods Joint Stock Company. The event is considered a new milestone, continuing to increase the position of Ly Son garlic specialty, not only in the domestic market but also internationally.
For a long time, Ly Son Island has been known as the "kingdom of garlic". Thanks to its fragrant aroma, spicy but still sweet taste, small, white bulbs, even cloves, and high essential oil content, Ly Son garlic is considered a famous and valuable specialty of the Central island district. In addition, garlic also brings practical economic values when it is currently priced 3-4 times higher than regular garlic because it is favored by consumers and is used as a valuable medicinal source in medicine. Understanding that value and the desire to create delicious, quality products combined with Vietnamese specialties, Masan Consumer's team has researched and developed the product Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son using 100% garlic from Ly Son Island.
Exactly 1 year since its launch, more than 5 million bottles of Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son have been consumed, demonstrating consumers' trust in a quality product, thereby raising the reputation and value of Ly Son garlic to a new level. From July 1, 2023, the Nam Ngu brand officially signed a contract with the People's Committee and farmers of Ly Son island district to supply Ly Son garlic on a long-term basis to process Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son fish sauce to ensure output for local specialties.
At the event, Nam Ngu brand committed to continue to promote strongly so that Ly Son garlic can reach far in the domestic and international markets with quality products, available at retail stores and supermarkets widely. In addition, Masan Consumer also supported 1 billion VND for the project to expand the agricultural irrigation system from the water source of Thoi Loi reservoir, bringing water to garlic fields, ensuring irrigation water for farmers. This promises to bring great motivation to farmers in the island district. Because when the output is guaranteed, the value of garlic and brand value are raised, farmers' income will be higher, from which they can feel secure in growing crops to increase productivity, and together develop the local economy more and more sustainably.
Set a record for the 15m spring roll with the most diverse fillings in Vietnam
Many other exciting activities also took place at the recent promotional event. The highlight was the record-setting of the 15m spring roll with the most diverse fillings in Vietnam by Nam Ngu. 15 artisans worked hard to create a giant colorful spring roll, with 15 different fillings from many regions, up to 15m long.
Spring rolls are a famous specialty dish of Vietnam. The spring rolls have just set an impressive record when they were created by 15 artisans with many types of fillings with different colors and flavors, representing the culinary characteristics of many regions. More special, the spring rolls are eaten with Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son fish sauce with a little sweet and sour, spicy, and the fragrant smell of Ly Son garlic. The guests present at the event when directly enjoying the spring rolls with Nam Ngu Chili Garlic Ly Son also had to nod in praise.
In addition, the audience also enjoyed the performance and interaction of singer My Tam at the event. As a native of the Central region, My Tam's participation in this special event not only shows her support for the famous regional specialty but also contributes to spreading the value of Ly Son garlic closer to the audience. In her performance, My Tam sent the touching and emotional song "My Childhood Homeland" as a tribute to the beloved Central region.
