The smoke of the battle of Selidovo had not yet cleared, and the Russian army used this momentum to advance relentlessly until it was only about 17 kilometers from the border of Dnipropetrovsk province. This land, which had never been directly affected by land warfare, was now facing an unprecedented threat from the Russian army, and the peaceful peace was covered in the clouds of war.

The strategic intentions of the Russian military are clear and certain. They are not only consolidating the results in Donbass, Zaporozhye, Kherson and other places, but are also aiming at important areas such as the Dnieper River and Kharkov, in order to further expand the area of control.

According to reliable sources, the Russian military plans to launch a comprehensive and systematic attack on the Dnipropetrovsk region by 2025. This will undoubtedly be another serious challenge to Ukraine's territorial integrity.

Under the relentless pressure of the Russian army, the Ukrainian army's defense line seems stretched and fragile to the point of "breaking" at any point. It seems that in nearly 3 years of war, this is the most difficult moment for Ukraine.

Igor Moshchuk, a former member of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) who served in the “Azov Battalion”, used his personal experience and insights to publicly criticize the Zelensky administration for building the Dnipropetrovsk region defense system.

Mr. Igor Moshchuk pointed out that the fortification systems and defensive positions in Bokovsk, which was considered the last stronghold held by the Ukrainian army in Donbass for many years, are now extremely fragile against Russian artillery bombs.

Mr. Moshchuk's warning is not without basis. He stressed that once the Pokrovsk defense line is lost, it will directly endanger the security of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and the lower reaches of the Dnieper River, because these areas are all flatlands, unhindered by natural factors.

This is not only a military defeat, but also a serious blow to the national defense system. The Ukrainian authorities are urgently taking measures to try to compensate for this fatal flaw.

Russian military intelligence quickly caught wind of this move by the Ukrainian Army. They noticed that near the village of Rozlyv in Donetsk Oblast, just over 10 kilometers from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast as the crow flies, the Ukrainian Army was strengthening the construction of new defense lines, in preparation for the upcoming Russian offensive.

100,000 deserters, Ukraine thirsts for human resources

The Russia-Ukraine conflict continues to be at a stalemate, with Ukraine now facing a very serious dilemma, with 100,000 soldiers deserting, while Ukraine's population is falling sharply.

Ms. Anna Skorokhod, a member of the Ukrainian Parliament, bluntly said that more than 100,000 Ukrainian Army soldiers had deserted, causing the country to fall into a difficult situation in the quagmire of war.

The brutality of war is one of the important reasons why Ukrainian soldiers have to desert. The Russia-Ukraine conflict is a high-intensity military confrontation and the danger to life, which can strike at any time, has put great psychological pressure on the soldiers.

In a state of extreme stress and prolonged fear, some soldiers chose to desert to escape the fear of war. In particular, there is information that the life of a Ukrainian soldier on the battlefield lasts less than 30 minutes.

In addition, family factors also contribute significantly to soldiers deserting, as many soldiers are very worried about their families. Having to be away from home for a long time to fight in difficult circumstances makes them miss their families even more. They worry about their family's safety and wish to reunite. Driven by this feeling, some soldiers have given up fighting and secretly left the army, to return to their families and have been reported as "missing".

Inadequate logistical support is also a key issue, and logistical support is crucial in war. However, Ukraine faces a dilemma: the lack of logistical support in the conflict leaves soldiers facing shortages of basic supplies, such as food and ammunition.

At the same time, medical facilities were limited and wounded soldiers could not be received in time; at the same time, salaries and benefits were not high, making soldiers feel that their efforts were not rewarded appropriately.

All of these factors combined to reduce the will to fight and lead to mass desertions among Ukrainian soldiers. The desertions have had serious consequences in Ukraine; especially in the context of the Russian Army accelerating its general offensive on the battlefield and recruiting is very difficult as it is now.

Ukraine reveals Moscow's losses

Recently, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that Russia has lost 712,610 soldiers since the conflict in Ukraine broke out in February 2022. Russia even suffered a record number of casualties of 1,950 soldiers on November 10.

According to the report, since the beginning of the conflict, Russia has lost 9,276 tanks, 18,847 armored combat vehicles, 20,352 artillery systems, 1,249 multiple launch rocket systems, 996 air defense systems, 369 aircraft, 329 helicopters, 18,737 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), along with 28 ships, and 1 submarine.

Russia has not yet commented on the above information.
