The above information was reported by the Indian newspaper The Times of India on July 2.
Specifically, the Quad countries are arranging a meeting in the second half of this month, during which the foreign ministers are expected to strongly reaffirm their commitment to the rules-based international order and a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
They will also look at cooperation on Quad initiatives for the Indo-Pacific region, announced at last year's Hiroshima summit, including on climate change, clean energy supply chains and infrastructure.
The ministers are also likely to reiterate their opposition to any unilateral actions that seek to change the regional status quo by force or coercion.
At its most recent foreign ministers’ meeting, on the sidelines of the 2023 UN General Assembly, the Quad expressed deep concerns about the militarization of disputed features, the dangerous use of coast guard and maritime militia vessels, and efforts to disrupt other countries’ offshore oil and gas activities.
The agenda is also expected to revolve around the situation in Myanmar, the Korean Peninsula, as well as Ukraine.
