According to the updated schedule, the next match of the Vietnamese team will take place at the end of March. Coach Kim Sang-sik and his students will begin competing in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers with a match against Laos on March 25 at home. The specific location and match time have not been announced.

The 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers will have six matches taking place across six FIFA Days. FIFA allows each national team to play a maximum of two matches in each international series.
Therefore, in each series of FIFA Days in March, June and November, the Vietnamese team can play one more friendly match in addition to the match in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has not announced the friendly match plan.
Football Association of Thailand (FAT) President Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang) said that the organization plans to invite the Vietnamese team to participate in the King's Cup tournament in September. However, there is no official information from the two football federations.
In addition to his duties in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, coach Kim Sang-sik has another important tournament to attend. He will lead the U23 Vietnam team to compete in the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand at the end of the year.
