Coach Mai Duc Chung said that the Vietnamese women's team is receiving adequate nutrition, with each player receiving an allowance of more than one million VND per day during preparation for the 2023 World Cup.

Coach Mai Duc Chung received many questions about the team's nutrition and preparation plan for the 2023 World Cup.

The 74-year-old coach said that currently, the Vietnamese women's team has a good nutritional regimen and is actively training to prepare for the women's world football festival.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said: "Eating and drinking contribute to improving the physical strength and recovery of athletes. Currently, we do not have a personal nutritionist.

However, the Federation's kitchen provides relatively adequate nutrition for the players with dishes such as chicken, beef, and balut in the morning...

In addition, we are supplemented with milk, ginseng, B12 and functional foods from sponsors."

According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the lives of Vietnamese female players have improved a lot compared to before thanks to consecutive successes in regional competitions and winning tickets to the World Cup.

The 74-year-old coach said: "Each player is currently subsidized more than one million VND/day (except 4 Sundays) from the General Department of Sports and Physical Training and the Vietnam Football Federation.

Never before has the women's football team received such good attention and training. This is a great source of encouragement for us."

After returning home, the Vietnamese women's team is getting used to the time difference. In addition to nutritional supplements, coach Mai Duc Chung and his colleagues also plan and arrange a suitable training and rest schedule for the players to regain their physical condition and maintain their fitness.

The Hanoi coach is confident that the team has a good physical foundation, which was demonstrated during the recent European training trip.

Coach Mai Duc Chung said: "As you saw through the match with the German women's team, the physical strength of the Vietnamese women's team is very good, no one is exhausted or has cramps.

Typically, at the end of the match, Thanh Nha still had a very fast sprint to get past the opposing defenders to score. We are continuing to maintain our physical strength and speed endurance so that when we go to New Zealand for the World Cup, we will be ready to face the US, the Netherlands and Portugal."

Regarding the team's strength, coach Mai Duc Chung announced good news about the recovery process of central defender Chuong Thi Kieu and striker Huynh Nhu.

Chuong Thi Kieu has recovered 80% of her physical strength and Huynh Nhu has returned to training with the team after spraining her ankle in the 1-2 loss to Poland's U23 women's team on June 19.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese women's team will train in Hanoi until July 5 before leaving for New Zealand. The team will have more than 10 days of training and friendly matches before competing at the 2023 World Cup.

In the group stage, coach Mai Duc Chung's team will meet the US (July 22), Portugal (July 27) and the Netherlands (August 1).
