Meritorious Artist Huong Dung is one of the talented female artists of the Northern screen whose name is on the list of candidates for the title of People's Artist (NSND) in the 10th term of 2023.
When Dan Tri reporters contacted Huong Dung, she said she was currently abroad. Although she has not yet received an official decision on the 10th People's Artist award in 2023, her name is on the list of individuals awarded the title of People's Artist by the President.
The veteran actress said: "I haven't received any notification yet, but recently a friend sent me a list and I saw my name on it."
Meritorious Artist Huong Dung is a veteran of Northern theater and cinema. In the field of theater, she won the Gold Medal at the National Theater Festival in 1985 and was awarded the title of Meritorious Artist in 2010.
The elegant and luxurious features of Meritorious Artist Huong Dung also brought her to the roles of powerful and sharp women in TV series such as: Running away from the case , Cua de danh, Chu tri tinh yeu, Cau vong tinh yeu ,...
In particular, the role of the deputy minister's wife in the hit TV series Chay An stands out. Besides acting, artist Huong Dung also takes on voiceover work for TV series.
Despite her success in art, Meritorious Artist Huong Dung faces many storms in her daily life.
On film, she plays powerful, luxurious roles, but off screen, the female artist has gone through difficult times and is in debt.
Sharing in the Money Talk program, Huong Dung revealed that she had to go through a rather difficult and stressful time with this "out of the blue" debt: "I was drowning in debt because I had to take on the debt. I just kept working, and saved up whatever I earned to pay back to others.
I don't remember how many years I've been struggling to pay off my debt. I've been working, raising a family, and worrying about internal and external affairs, which has made me never feel at ease. The word "debt" is always hanging over my head, it feels very miserable."
Recalling that time, the female artist expressed in the program Confession : "I felt like God was testing me, making me have to carry one person after another."
Currently, Meritorious Artist Huong Dung has overcome the upheavals to have a peaceful life with her family. At the age of over 60, she is still working hard.
Besides, the actress of the movie The Judge spends time gardening and taking care of pets. "It's a hobby that helps me relieve stress. I wish I had more time each day to do what I like," she confided.

Regarding the consideration of awarding the title of People's Artist, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Huyen said she has not received an official decision.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Meritorious Artist Si Tien - Director of Tuoi Tre Theater confirmed that this time the Theater has 3 artists on the list to be awarded the title of People's Artist: Meritorious Artist Duc Trung, Meritorious Artist Ngoc Huyen (retired), painter, Meritorious Artist Do Doan Bang - Deputy Director of Tuoi Tre Theater.
Ngoc Huyen was born in 1962, she is the daughter of the owner of the famous Dai Tan photo studio in Hue, Hanoi, and is considered a "rich young lady".
The whole family is in business, but Meritorious Artist Ngoc Huyen is passionate about drama. She and her ex-husband, Meritorious Artist Chi Trung, worked at the Youth Theater until their retirement.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter about her life after retirement, Ngoc Huyen said that she is having peaceful and happy days with her family.
Currently, Ngoc Huyen lives with her 81-year-old mother in a luxury apartment on Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi. She said her mother has been living with her for over a year now.
Her mother is weak and uses a wheelchair, so Ngoc Huyen cooks and takes care of her mother every day. There is a maid and her siblings come over to help occasionally, so Ngoc Huyen still has time to go to a coffee shop and chat with friends.
Ngoc Huyen shared that she has a daughter-in-law but she is not a difficult mother-in-law. The mother and daughter understand each other quite well and often talk and confide in each other.
Ngoc Huyen said that since she was young, she had thought that she would live near but not with her daughter-in-law and son-in-law because each person has their own life, they need to respect each other's way of life. If she doesn't have enough money to buy a house, she can sell the big house and live in two smaller ones.
Her eldest daughter, Huyen Trang, also lives alone and often visits her grandmother and mother. Her family also enjoys taking photos together, gathering and eating together.
According to Ngoc Huyen, since moving to this new residential area, she has also participated in the Women's Union and cultural movements in the apartment building, so she feels that she lives happier and healthier.
Sharing about her love life at the age of U60, the female artist said, "there are people who pay attention to her but they are just friends". At the age of 61, she believes that living happily with everyone is happiness.

Thu Huyen was born in 1975 in Hanoi in a family where no one was active in the arts, but she loved singing Cheo since she was a child.
She has a short stature. At the age of 16 (1991), Thu Huyen won the special prize of the Hanoi Young Stage Talent Contest for her role as Thi Mau.
At the age of 17 (1992), she graduated from the intermediate Cheo school of Hanoi Cheo Theater and began her Cheo acting career.
In her career as a Cheo performer, Thu Huyen became famous for her role as Thi Mau in the ancient Cheo play Quan Am Thi Kinh . With eyes that were compared to being as sharp as areca knives, plus buck teeth and a mole on the corner of her lips, Thu Huyen made Thi Mau the most flirtatious figure in Vietnamese folklore.
In 1998, with the role of Thi Mau, Thu Huyen once again won first prize in the National Young Stage Talent Competition.
She also had a number of other successful roles such as: Thi Phuong in Truong Vien , Co Son in Co Son, Suy Van in Suy Van pretending to be crazy , Hoan Thu in Kieu . She won many gold and silver medals in performance festivals.
In 2002, she ran for the 11th National Assembly of Vietnam (2002-2007). In addition to the art of Cheo, her Bac Ninh folk songs also left a strong impression on the public such as Xe chi thong kim , Vao chua , Di cach , Lung lieng , Hoa thom buom luong .

Not only successful in her career, Ngoc Huyen also has a happy marriage of nearly 2 decades with Meritorious Artist Tan Minh. In a conversation with Dan Tri reporter, the female artist said that in 30 years together, they have never had a conflict or loud argument.
Sharing the secret to keeping the family warm and harmonious when both are artists and bosses, Thu Huyen confided: "We understand that family is the most important thing, so we always try to arrange things harmoniously.
Back home, we spend time talking and supporting each other with family matters. We take care of our two sons together and share the joys and sorrows of life. I think that is the motivation for me to complete the task I am undertaking."
Talking about her life partner - Meritorious Artist Tan Minh, Thu Huyen revealed that her husband is a calm person, does not often say flowery words to his life partner but is very sincere.
"He is romantic but will not show it in an ostentatious, colorful way. Minh also does not say cheesy words but shows his feelings through actions that make me feel warm and secure," said "Thi Mau" Thu Huyen.

Thu Huyen shared that her husband has never raised his voice or scolded her. When she was upset and spoke loudly, her husband would stay silent. And when she saw that her husband did not say anything, she had to look back at herself and felt that her raising her voice was wrong.
"I restrain myself. If I see that my husband seems angry, I will not say anything more, so he will not have the opportunity to get angry with me. Maybe that is why in the past 20 years, we have not had any major conflicts," the female artist confided.
For Thu Huyen, happiness is doing the job she loves and is passionate about, living and dedicating herself to her job, being respected by everyone, having a harmonious family and obedient children.
"When I come home, family is the most peaceful place. I have all of that and I think I am a happy person," Meritorious Artist Thu Huyen confided.
