Changes in Dong Ngu

In recent times, with many investment resources from the province, Tien Yen district and the cooperation of the people, the infrastructure system of Dong Ngu commune has been invested synchronously. Thereby, traffic is convenient, schools and public works are spacious, clean and beautiful, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Binh Son village (Dong Ngu commune) has 90% of the population being ethnic minorities. Previously, to get to the commune center, people had to spend a lot of time crossing a small, narrow dirt road; on rainy and stormy days, people could not cross the stream, affecting their economic development.

In 2023, the village received investment from the district and commune in 2 projects: The road to Ma Phenh area of Binh Son village is nearly 1,300m long, the road surface is 5m wide, costing nearly 3 billion VND; the overflow road of Binh Son village is 90m long, with a total cost of 2.5 billion VND. Both projects will be completed by the end of 2023, serving the traffic and production of the people, students do not have to miss school during rains and storms. In addition, from the NTM capital source, the village has invested in building a spacious cultural house with a capacity of 250 seats, fully equipped with loudspeakers for people's activities.

Mr. Hoang Gi Phat (Binh Son village) excitedly shared: The village currently has 15 households/72 people, mainly Dao ethnic people. Previously, the village did not have a cultural house, and the roads were very difficult to travel. Currently, the village has invested in concrete roads for convenient travel and production; built a cultural house to have a place for activities, entertainment, and recreation. The people are very excited.

One of the meaningful projects for the people of the commune is the Dong Ngu Primary School project. The project started in August 2023 and was completed in August 2024. The project includes the following items: 3-storey theoretical and subject building; 3-storey headmaster building; 3-storey theoretical building for 15 classes..., meeting the teaching and learning needs of teachers and students of the school.

In the past 2 years, the commune has received investment in more than 10 projects of roads, schools, canals, irrigation, cultural houses..., with a total capital of over 500 billion VND. Up to now, 100% of commune roads (9.5km), alley roads (29km), and intra-field roads (4km) have been asphalted and hardened, meeting the requirements of production and transportation of goods.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, said: According to Resolution No. 161/NQ-HDND of the District People's Council, Dong Ngu will continue to be invested in renovating and upgrading 6 road expansion projects according to the district's traffic project, cultural houses, and village roads. The commune will propagate and mobilize people to donate land and contribute working days with the motto "The State and the people work together". The commune has only 11 near-poor households, with an average income of 9 million VND/person/month; Security and order are maintained; cultural - sports, education, and health activities have many positive changes.
