Tien Yen is a region with rich tourism potential, possessing pristine landscapes, diverse cultural identity, and many traditional festivals. Thanks to well-planned strategies, the district is gradually building and asserting its position.
Accordingly, in order to promote sustainable tourism development, the district has issued resolutions and projects on tourism development in Tien Yen district, oriented towards 2025 and with a vision to 2030, focusing on infrastructure, services, and distinctive tourism products. Sharing her thoughts on this matter, Ms. La Thi Thuy, Head of the Culture and Sports Department of Tien Yen district, said: "This is a strategic step, helping to implement solutions synchronously, creating an important impetus for Tien Yen tourism to develop in a more systematic, sustainable way, and attract more tourists."
Recognizing the crucial role of infrastructure in tourism development, Tien Yen has prioritized allocating funds to upgrade key transportation routes. Roads connecting National Highway 18A with the Pac Sui Waterfall tourist area, and linking the center of Dai Duc commune with the former Dai Thanh commune, are being renovated, facilitating easier travel. Simultaneously, historical sites such as the Victory Monument on Highway 4 (Dien Xa commune) are being preserved and developed into tourist attractions and traditional education destinations.
Besides infrastructure investment, Tien Yen particularly focuses on developing intra-district and inter-district tourism routes, connecting with key tourist destinations in the province. Ecotourism and community-based tourism in highland communes such as Yen Than, Dai Duc, and Ha Lau are being promoted, offering visitors the unique cultural experiences of the Dao, Tay, and San Chi ethnic groups. Meanwhile, lowland communes are developing resort and entertainment tourism with riverside resorts and modern amusement parks, meeting the relaxation needs of tourists.
Tien Yen also makes the most of its advantages in spiritual tourism and heritage. The temple of Lord Hoang Can, Tien Yen ancient town, and traditional rituals such as the Harvest Prayer (San Chi), Dai Phan (San Diu), Coming-of-Age Ceremony (Dao), Lau Then (Tay), and wedding procession (Dao, San Diu) have become highlights attracting tourists. Traditional cultural festivals are regularly organized, creating a vibrant space for cultural exchange and promoting tourism development.
Tien Yen focuses on exploiting its heritage values to create attractive tourism products. Tourist attractions such as Tien Yen Market, the Northeast Ethnic Groups' Cultural and Sports Center, Pac Sui Waterfall, and Tien Yen pedestrian street are being effectively utilized. The district is developing eco-tourism, resort tourism, farm tourism, and preserving and developing traditional crafts such as ethnic costume embroidery, food processing, and traditional medicine making.
Local art performance programs are also being developed, creating unique highlights. The district has a long-term vision of forming community-based cultural tourism villages, contributing to the preservation of local culture while attracting domestic and international tourists.
Contributing to the promotion of tourism, Tien Yen also strengthens tourism promotion through fairs, thematic seminars, and cooperation with travel businesses. A synchronized promotional system is implemented with strategically placed billboards, connecting with major tourism centers such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and neighboring provinces. In addition, the district promotes digitalization in promotion, multi-channel communication, strengthens tourism management; and focuses on training human resources and improving foreign language skills to provide more professional service to international tourists.
Thanks to clear direction, Tien Yen has recently boosted infrastructure investment and sustainable tourism development. Many important projects have been completed, such as upgrading the road to Pac Sui Waterfall, expanding the road to Dong Rui island commune, building the San Chi Ethnic Culture Center, and maintaining the Tien Yen pedestrian street. The district has also issued a tourism development plan until 2025, with a vision to 2030, focusing on ecotourism, community-based tourism, and cultural preservation. These efforts have helped Tien Yen increasingly affirm its position as an attractive destination in Quang Ninh province.
Investing in infrastructure, attracting social resources, and diversifying tourism products not only helps Tien Yen develop sustainably but also contributes to cultural preservation and promotes the local economy. With a well-planned strategy, the district is gradually becoming one of the most attractive tourist destinations in the Northeast region.
