Portugal's Lank FC lost three games in the first three games of the 2023-2024 season, and will face many difficulties in the coming time.
Lank FC lost 2-13 on aggregate in the first round of the League Cup against Racing Power FC, newly promoted to the Portuguese Liga BPI. Lank then lost 0-8 to Sporting Lisbon in the opening round of the 2023-2024 Liga BPI.

Conceding 21 goals in just three games is the worst statistic in Lank FC's history. This is a huge increase compared to last season when the team conceded 52 goals in 28 games in all competitions. Also last season, Lank finished sixth in Liga BPI, reached the quarter-finals of the League Cup and the fourth round of the National Cup. But according to the current situation, they are in the group with a high risk of relegation.
Lank’s decline has been fuelled by a reduction in investment by president Nene Miranda. The team has only registered 18 players this season, including eight from last season’s 34-man squad. The best players who have left include striker Malu Schimdt – the team’s top scorer last season with 12 goals, midfielder Sini Laaksonen, centre-back Madalena Marau and goalkeeper Daniela Araujo.
Huynh Nhu is one of eight names retained from last season. At 31, the Vietnamese striker is the eldest and a mainstay of the team alongside Gabi Goncalves, leading a squad of 11 U20 players. Huynh Nhu has started all three matches of the season, playing 268 minutes. She has yet to contribute to any goals and has received a yellow card.

Last season, Huynh Nhu played 22 matches with 981 minutes, scored seven goals and assisted two goals. She created attraction in Vietnam and the Portuguese league and is considered the most successful Vietnamese player to play abroad.
On the official fanpage, Lank fans believe that most of the players in the team are not qualified to compete in Liga BPI. The team will continue to lose heavily and be relegated if they do not have more quality players.
2023/2024 is Lank's fourth consecutive season in Liga BPI. The last time the team was relegated was in the 2018/2019 season when they only won 11 points after 22 matches.
