Within the framework of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Anniversary - Hung Temple Festival 2023, at exactly 7:30 a.m. on April 26 (ie the 7th day of the 3rd lunar month), the palanquin procession from the communal houses and temples of 7 communes and towns on the outskirts of the relic site including: Chu Hoa, Hung Lo, Kim Duc, Hy Cuong communes and Van Phu ward (Viet Tri city), Tien Kien and Hung Son communes (Lam Thao district) officially took place at the Hung Temple Historical Relic Site, Viet Tri city (Phu Tho).

This is one of the traditional rituals included in the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day - Hung Temple Festival program every year and has been maintained and preserved for a long time, thereby honoring the value of the Hung Kings' worship in Phu Tho, which has been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The palanquin procession to Hung Temple also demonstrates the morality of drinking water, remembering the source and respect for our ancestors, while also demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and national community. The palanquin procession is arranged in the following order: Leading the way is the lion dance team, followed by the procession of the national flag and festival flags, the small god flag procession team; young girls carrying offerings, incense and flowers; the gong and drum team, the eight-tone team and the Sinh Tien dance team, the eight-treasure procession, the umbrella procession, the palanquin team, the celebrant and officials; the leaders of the commune, ward and town, the elderly wearing traditional costumes and turbans, and the people participating in the palanquin procession. The organization of palanquin processions of communes in the vicinity of Hung Temple on the occasion of the annual Hung Kings' Commemoration Day aims to recreate the cultural and religious activities of the residents of the land associated with the Ancestor Worship; at the same time, create richness and attractiveness of folk cultural activities on the occasion of the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day; arouse pride in national history and cultural traditions to educate awareness, the spirit of national solidarity and the morality of "remembering the source when drinking water" and "remembering the person who planted the tree when eating fruit".
