Enterprises owe 185 billion VND in insurance, Ca Mau has a "hot" solution

On August 11, according to a source from Dan Tri reporter, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Ca Mau province, has just signed a decision to establish a steering group to inspect units that owe social insurance (SI), unemployment insurance (UI), health insurance (HI), and occupational accident and disease insurance (OHI) in this province.

Participating in the working group are officials and leaders of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Social Insurance, Labor Federation, Tax Department, Police, Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Justice, Department of Planning and Investment, Business Association, Economic Zone Management Board.

This team is responsible for advising, inspecting, reviewing, urging, and handling units and businesses that owe the above types of insurance.

According to a report from the Social Insurance Department of Ca Mau province, as of June 30, there were more than 400 units and businesses with thousands of employees, owing over 185 billion VND in insurance debt.

Statistics show that 52 businesses have gone bankrupt, dissolved, stopped operations, and some owners have absconded with insurance debts of more than 39.7 billion VND. Of these, the business with the highest debt is 151 months, the lowest is 1 month; the highest debt is nearly 9 billion VND, the lowest is more than 2 million VND.

Most of the above mentioned businesses operate in industries such as construction, cosmetics, food, electricity and other trade and services.

There are 369 non-state enterprises with debts of more than 136.7 billion VND. Of these, the enterprise with the highest debt is 151 months, the lowest is 3 months; the highest debt is 39 billion VND, the lowest is about 2 million VND.

Cooperatives and individual business households have 10 units with debts of more than 251 million VND. Of which, the unit with the most debt is 96 months, the least is 3 months; the highest debt is more than 41 million VND, the lowest is 5 million VND.

There are 18 administrative, public, Party, mass and non-public units that owe nearly 3 billion VND. Of which, the unit with the highest debt is 49 months, the lowest is 3 months; the highest debt is 1 billion VND, the lowest is about 7 million VND.

According to the reporter's source, the working group is developing an inspection plan, expected to be implemented in August and report the results to the People's Committee of Ca Mau province in September.
