People are ready to accept
At the first Vietbuild Hanoi 2025 Exhibition taking place at the National Exhibition Center for Architecture and Construction Planning (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), with nearly 1,500 booths introducing new products and advanced technologies. Enterprises in the industry focus on investment, innovation in production, promoting business and market development to bring the brand closer to customers.
Representative of Quang Minh Mechanical and Metal Company Limited, shared, starting from the concern of having a product to prevent mosquito bites without having to use mosquito nets every night to sleep, but still having a cool sleeping space, not stuffy, entangled..., from there, the idea of a mosquito repellent solution was formed.
Generations of products are constantly being improved, aiming to increase the value of solutions for a wide range of customers. The company is also the first enterprise in the insect screen door industry in Vietnam to participate in the global supply chain.
This is the result of a continuous process of research, improving designs, increasing product value... From there, bringing export orders for accessories and finished doors to markets such as: India, Bangladesh, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia.
In addition to the changes in businesses, consumers are also making positive changes. Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Building Materials Tong Van Nga said: "We can clearly see that more and more people are interested in and choosing environmentally friendly construction materials. Not only large investors, but also households prioritize the use of unburnt bricks, ecological paints or products that help save energy."
According to Mr. Tong Van Nga, this change comes not only from environmental protection awareness but also from practical benefits. These materials help reduce operating costs, prolong the life of the project, and limit degradation. Therefore, people increasingly tend to choose green products to both save money and contribute to environmental protection.
Mr. Tong Van Nga also suggested that universities and research institutes strengthen training on sustainable construction materials; at the same time, connect with businesses to promote practical applications. Only when there is close coordination between training and production can we develop a truly sustainable construction industry.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Building Materials, the future of the industry lies not only in the use of green materials but also in moving towards a circular economic model.
First, construction materials must be non-polluting or less polluting. Second, the industry needs to minimize waste and increase recycling to maximize the use of raw materials.
Currently, many Vietnamese enterprises are initially applying this model by utilizing construction waste, processing it and returning it to production. This is an inevitable trend in the world. If going in the right direction, the Vietnamese construction materials industry will not only develop sustainably but also be able to reach further in the international market.
Asserting position
Sharing about the development of the construction materials industry, Mr. Tong Van Nga - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Materials Association emphasized that after many years of innovation and development, the Vietnamese construction materials industry has made strong progress. Previously, Vietnam relied heavily on imports, but now the industry has become self-sufficient and even reached out to the international market, exporting to countries such as the US, EU, and Japan.
“We need a team of experts, architects and engineers with sufficient capacity to promptly advise and apply new technologies and materials to construction designs. Then, society will benefit from advances in the construction industry” - Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Building Materials Tong Van Nga
According to Mr. Tong Van Nga, products such as cement, unburnt bricks, tiles, construction glass, etc. are increasingly affirming their quality, meeting international standards with competitive prices. Thanks to investment in modern production technology and cost optimization, many domestic enterprises have created high-value products that are competitive in the international market.
In addition to product development, the construction materials industry is also promoting the trend of sustainable development, applying environmentally friendly materials. “If anyone has ever attended VietBuild exhibitions, they will certainly notice that every year there are new products that are greener, cleaner, and more energy-saving. This is a clear demonstration of the industry's constant innovation,” emphasized Mr. Tong Van Nga. At the same time, he said that the greening trend in the construction industry is no longer an option but has become an inevitable requirement. Recyclable, less polluting, and environmentally friendly materials will be increasingly widely applied. This not only helps reduce negative impacts on the environment but also improves economic efficiency.
