The National Assembly's Judiciary Committee's survey delegation visited Song Cai Prison.
Song Cai Prison is currently managing and detaining 2,268 prisoners. Prisoners are provided with full personal belongings, and the quantity of meals is guaranteed to meet the standards and norms prescribed by law. On holidays and Tet, prisoners' meals are increased 5 times compared to normal days, and they are examined and treated periodically. When coming to the prison to serve their sentences, prisoners are educated in the law, civic education, life skills and participate in literacy classes. Every month, prisoners are allowed to visit, meet relatives, and make phone calls to their families once. In the first 6 months of 2024, 14 prisoners were conditionally released early, 968 prisoners had their sentence terms reduced...

Speaking at the meeting, Comrade Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Judicial Committee, acknowledged the efforts of the officers and soldiers of Song Cai Prison to overcome difficulties to complete the assigned tasks. The unit has coordinated and implemented synchronous measures with other judicial agencies to effectively carry out the work of educating prisoners serving sentences for violating criminal law. Regarding the recommendations of Song Cai Prison, the Working Group fully recorded and classified them to report to the National Assembly Standing Committee and relevant ministries and branches for consideration and resolution.
