From August 21-24, a delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by comrade Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission, visited and worked in Iran.
During the visit, Comrade Pham Tat Thang had meetings with Secretary General, Chairman of the Political - Security - Defense Committee, Council of Unified Cognition Ghadir Nezamipour; visited and worked with Secretary General of the Islamic Union Party Assadollah Badamchian, Chairman of the Party Union Manouchehr Mottaki, Deputy Foreign Minister Shaykh al-Islami, Chairman of the National Assembly's Interior Committee and received a courtesy call with Chairman of the Iran-Vietnam Friendship Association Seyed Kamal Sajadi.

At the meetings, Comrade Pham Tat Thang informed about the situation in Vietnam; highly appreciated the achievements that Iran has made in maintaining political and security stability, developing the economy, becoming the 22nd largest economy in the world, ensuring social security and international integration.
Affirming that the Party and State of Vietnam attach importance to relations with Iran, comrade Pham Tat Thang suggested that the two sides quickly implement the signed cooperation agreements, maximize the potential and advantages of each country to consolidate and develop effective and substantive cooperation in the fields of politics - diplomacy, trade - investment, culture - education, science - technology, etc.

Iranian leaders expressed their admiration for Vietnam's glorious history and achievements in national construction and development; affirming that Vietnam is a leading important partner in the Asia-Pacific region.
Iran wishes to deepen the solidarity, friendship and cooperation with Vietnam, especially in areas where both sides have strengths and needs, striving to realize the economic cooperation target of 2 billion USD set by the leaders of the two countries.

The two sides agreed to coordinate in organizing practical activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Iran diplomatic relations (August 4, 1973 - August 4, 2023); increase delegation exchanges at all levels; closely coordinate at international multilateral forums; encourage friendly relations and cooperation between mass organizations of the two countries; promote business connections and people-to-people exchanges.
The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Tehran and learned about the situation of the Vietnamese community in Iran.
