From October 23-25, a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Comrade Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member and Head of the Central Economic Commission, paid a working visit to Korea.
During their stay in Korea, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh and the delegation met and worked with Prime Minister Han Duck Soo, had discussions and worked with Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In Chon, Mayor of Busan Park Heong-joon, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Jang Ho Jin, First Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Youngjin Jang.
In addition, the delegation visited and worked with large Korean corporations and enterprises such as POSCO, GS Energy, Samsung, Hanwha Ocean, met with Honorary Consul General of Vietnam in Busan City Park Soo Kwan, visited and talked with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese business community in Korea.
Welcoming Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh and the delegation to visit Korea, Prime Minister Han Duck Soo assessed the visit as an important milestone in the multifaceted cooperation relationship between the two countries.
Prime Minister Han Duck Soo said with delight that over the past 30 years, the relationship between the two countries has witnessed strong, rapid and positive developments. South Korea, Vietnam's largest investor and third largest trade partner, is also a reliable companion of Vietnam, supporting Vietnam's goal of becoming a developed country by 2045.
Korea is ready to cooperate closely with Vietnam in various fields and support Vietnam in improving its science and technology capacity and human resource quality to achieve its set development goals.
In addition, the Prime Minister suggested that the two sides coordinate to remove trade barriers to facilitate the two countries' trade turnover to reach the target of 100 billion USD by 2023 and 150 billion USD by 2030.

The Mayor of Busan and the Ministers and Vice Ministers of Korea expressed their delight at the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. Affirming that Vietnam has become an attractive investment destination for Korean businesses and a favorite tourist destination for many Koreans, the officials wished to closely coordinate with the Party, Government, ministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam to deepen the cooperation and exchange between the two countries with higher quality.
Expressing his joy at leading a high-ranking Party delegation to visit and work in Korea, Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh thanked the Korean Government for welcoming the delegation with warm, respectful and thoughtful sentiments. The Communist Party and the Government of Vietnam always attach importance to and wish to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership with Korea.
Comrade Tran Tuan Anh said that the framework of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is creating new momentum and vitality to help promote multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, opening up cooperation opportunities in new areas of cooperation such as innovation, startups, high technology, information technology and digital transformation, energy transition, clean energy, renewable energy, climate change adaptation, metallurgy, mechanics, mining, and supply chain construction.

On the basis of the good bilateral relations, high political trust, deep and strong people-to-people relations and similarities in strategic goals, comrade Tran Tuan Anh suggested that the two sides strengthen coordination, support businesses of the two countries, create a more favorable investment and business environment and build new supply chains.
The Head of the Central Economic Commission expressed his hope that the Government, ministries, sectors, and large corporations and enterprises of Korea will continue to closely coordinate and support Vietnam in developing important industries such as information technology, electronics, marine economy, shipbuilding, and maritime transport; at the same time, he suggested that the two sides promote cultural and sports cooperation to further enhance the image and position, creating a spread of good values of each country in the region and on the international arena.
Appreciating the efforts and important contributions of the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnamese business community in Korea in promoting multifaceted cooperation with Korea, comrade Tran Tuan Anh suggested that the Embassy and the business community continue to promote the results of their work, actively contributing to bringing the relationship to match the framework of the Vietnam-Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
