On the afternoon of November 10, in Hanoi, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member, Head of the Central Economic Commission, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, received a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Peru.
Warmly welcoming Comrade Luis Villanueva as he led a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Peru to visit and work in Vietnam for the first time, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh highly appreciated the significance of the delegation's visit and believed that the visit would actively contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and trust, deepening the good traditional cooperative relationship between the two parties.
Comrade Tran Tuan Anh conveyed the warm regards of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to General Secretary Luis Villanueva.
Comrade Tran Tuan Anh expressed the deep appreciation and gratitude of the Party, State and people of Vietnam for the solidarity and active support of the Communist Party of Peru for Vietnam's past cause of national liberation and reunification as well as Vietnam's cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland today.
The Head of the Central Economic Commission affirmed that the Communist Party of Vietnam always attaches importance to and wishes to continuously consolidate and enhance cooperative relations with countries and parties with traditional relations, including the Communist Party of Peru, on the basis of historical ties, similar interests and cooperation requirements in the new situation for the benefit of the people of each country, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Informing the high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Peru about the situation in Vietnam, the Head of the Central Economic Commission said that after nearly 40 years of implementing the renovation process initiated and led by the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vietnam has achieved great and historic achievements.
Since the beginning of the 13th National Congress, the Central Executive Committee and the Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam have issued many policies, resolutions, and orientations for the country's socio-economic development, not only during the Congress term (2021-2026) but also towards 2030 and the vision to 2045.
In the context of many complex international fluctuations, Vietnam's economy is adversely affected, but under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the direction and administration of the Government and joint efforts, Vietnam's economy is basically stable, continuing to maintain a positive development trend.
Comrade Tran Tuan Anh expressed his appreciation for the developments in the economic, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Peru in recent times; affirmed that the potential and opportunities for cooperation are still very large, especially after both countries became members of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and the two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Peru continued to increase. The current results are positive but still not commensurate with the potential for economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.
He suggested that the Communist Party of Peru and the Left Alliance “Together for Peru” actively support the launch of negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) to take advantage of the strengths and exploit the potentials of each country; suggested increasing the exchange of high-level delegations, cooperation through party channels, maintaining bilateral cooperation mechanisms, enhancing trade exchanges, and closely coordinating at multilateral forums such as APEC and CPTPP.
The Head of the Central Economic Commission expressed his belief that 2024, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Peru, will be a memorable milestone in the cooperation between the two parties and countries in all fields, from politics, economics, to culture, sports, tourism, education and training, and people-to-people exchange.
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Peru Luis Villanueva thanked the Head of the Central Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh for his welcome and expressed his joy in visiting Vietnam for the first time and witnessing the important socio-economic development efforts and achievements of the Vietnamese State and people under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
Comrade Luis Villanueva highly appreciated the guidelines and policies of the Party and State of Vietnam in stabilizing the macro-economy and enhancing international integration; emphasized that the Communist Party of Peru always attaches importance to the traditional relationship, solidarity and closeness with the Communist Party of Vietnam; supports strengthening the relationship between Vietnam and Peru as well as with the Southern Common Market, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, stability, cooperation and development; and pledges to continue contributing to promoting the friendship and good cooperation between the two Parties, the two States and the people of the two countries in the coming time.

Earlier, on the morning of November 10, a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam led by comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central External Relations Commission, held talks with a high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Peru.
The two sides informed each other of the situation of each party and each country; the regional and international situation of mutual concern; and exchanged measures to tighten and enhance the effectiveness of cooperation between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of Peru in the coming time.
Comrade Le Hoai Trung and General Secretary Luis Villanueva agreed that the two parties should proactively increase the exchange of information and opinions in various flexible forms, support and actively coordinate at international multilateral political forums, promote friendly exchanges between the two peoples, actively contribute to promoting economic cooperation and potential areas between the two countries, as well as coordinate to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2024.
During their visit to Vietnam, the high-ranking delegation of the Communist Party of Peru will work with the Central Theoretical Council, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and a number of economic groups and enterprises; visit and work in Quang Ninh province and Ho Chi Minh City.
