Former champions Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray caused a stir when they trained together, 10 years after competing in the 2013 Wimbledon final.

Daily Mail reporter Mike Dickson shared on Twitter a photo of Djokovic and Murray on the practice court with the caption: "10 years since they met in the final. Djokovic practicing with Andy Murray at Wimbledon".

The post received many shares and comments. Djokovic and Murray were once fierce rivals but also friends in real life.

10 years ago, Murray defeated Djokovic in the 2013 Wimbledon final with a score of 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. It was the second of three Grand Slam titles that the Scot won after winning the 2012 US Open. Three years later, Murray won Wimbledon for the second time but his career has since declined due to injuries.

Meanwhile, Djokovic has maintained his position at the top. The Serbian recently rose to a record 23rd Grand Slam title, after defeating Casper Ruud in the Roland Garros final. He is considered the top candidate to win Wimbledon this year.

Despite missing top tournaments for a long time due to injury, Murray is expected to lead the British tennis flag at Wimbledon 2023. Tennis legend John McEnroe rated the former champion as a top 10 player who could cause trouble for Novak Djokovic. Murray is currently ranked 39th in the ATP rankings, but his experience on grass courts makes him highly regarded.

Murray will face compatriot Ryan Peniston, while Djokovic will face Argentine Pedro Cachin in their opening match on July 3. The possibility of the two former champions facing each other is only possible if both reach the final.

Before the tournament, Murray drew attention by saying that the Saudi Arabian rich investing in tennis was inevitable. This has happened in many other sports such as football, golf and boxing. While McEnroe called for tennis to distance itself from the influence of Saudi Arabia, Murray said: "Many other sports are going down that path and it is very difficult for tennis to avoid the temptation of their wealth."
