"A total of 115,042 candidates took the Foreign Language exam, reaching a rate of 99.5%, with 609 absentees. At the exam sites, 3 candidates were found to have violated exam regulations by bringing cell phones into the exam room," the Department of Education and Training stated and assessed the organization of the exam, exam discipline was maintained, and members at the exam sites all followed the exam regulations. The exam sites all made efforts to support and create the most favorable conditions for candidates to take the exam.

During the Literature exam this morning, the exam sites discovered 2 candidates violating exam regulations (1 candidate brought a cell phone into the exam room, 1 candidate brought documents into the exam room).

Thus, on the first day of the exam, the entire city had 5 candidates suspended from the exam for bringing phones and documents into the exam room.

This year, more than 129,000 candidates were considered for recognition of graduating from junior high school, of which more than 115,000 students took the 10th grade entrance exam across the city. According to the assigned quota, schools in the area will enroll 69,805 candidates into the public system (in 2022, more than 69,200 students will be recruited).

The number of candidates this year increased by about 1,000 candidates compared to last year, so the admission rate to public high schools also increased compared to last year. Specifically, the admission rate to grade 10 this year is more than 62%.

In the specialized system (Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Hue High School for the Gifted, Chu Van An High School, Son Tay High School), the total number of registered candidates is 11,283. Total quota is 1,895.

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, informed that Hanoi is the locality with the largest number of candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam in the country with more than 116,000 students registering. Hanoi has established 201 exam sites with nearly 5,000 exam rooms in 30 districts, towns and cities to serve candidates.

The city has about 20,000 officials and teachers working in exam supervision and grading. In addition, there are 590 supervisors at exam sites and more than 1,000 police officers and soldiers performing the task of protecting the exam area.

In hot weather conditions, all examination sites have maximized health care conditions for candidates. The electricity sector is committed to ensuring no power outages at examination sites, all 201 examination sites have backup generators.

To ensure objectivity, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training requires examination sites to assign invigilators according to the principle that each examination room will have 2 invigilators from 2 different schools; invigilators will not invigilate more than once in one examination room.

During the performance of their duties, members of the examination site must comply with the assignment, comply with the direction of the examination site manager, and properly implement the examination regulations and examination invigilation instructions. The examination site manager is responsible for assigning examination invigilators and members to perform duties at the examination site to ensure that the people are clearly identified, the work is confidential, and the procedures are correct and complete.
