Appearance of the bridge connecting Ha Tinh city and the coastal town of Loc Ha before opening to traffic

The new Ho Do Bridge across Nghen River connecting Ha Tinh City with Loc Ha District has basically completed the final work, ensuring technical traffic opening tomorrow (November 9).

These days, Bien Dong Consulting and Construction Joint Stock Company - the unit in charge of constructing the new Ho Do bridge project is making efforts to complete the final stages of traffic safety, environmental sanitation, and drainage system installation, before technical traffic opening.

The new Ho Do Bridge is part of the project to renovate the road surface, improve the technical infrastructure of Quang Trung Street from Nguyen Huy Lung Street to Ho Do Bridge and add a unit of Ho Do Bridge, with a total investment of 157 billion VND, invested by the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board.

The project includes two main items: Renovation and resurfacing of Quang Trung Street, 4.55 km long; construction of the new Ho Do Bridge and repair of the old Ho Do Bridge.

The project started in June 2022, by a joint venture between Ha Tay Road Management and Construction Joint Stock Company I and Bien Dong Construction and Consulting Joint Stock Company. After 4 months of implementation, the renovation and resurfacing of Quang Trung Street, 4.55km long, has been completed, facilitating traffic for people.

The new Ho Do Bridge is parallel to the old Ho Do Bridge, and construction has been underway since July 2022. The bridge is over 241m long, consisting of 2 abutments and 6 pillars, built with 11m wide reinforced concrete, of which the motor lane is 7m wide.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Suu - Deputy Director of Bien Dong Construction and Consulting Joint Stock Company said: The construction process of Ho Do bridge encountered some difficulties in terms of weather and road surface leading to the bridge, causing the progress to be not as planned at times. However, with the goal of opening the technical traffic on time, the unit mobilized maximum human resources and construction machinery "3 shifts, 4 teams", ensuring the project's progress.

Up to now, after many efforts of the contractor and close supervision of the investor, the construction of the new Ho Do bridge has been basically completed, ensuring the goal of technical traffic opening in November 2023.

Although the new Ho Do bridge has been technically opened to traffic, there are still unfinished works that are being urgently completed, especially the road leading to both ends of the bridge (150m long on the Ho Do commune side, 250m long on the Thach Ha commune side).

As soon as the new Ho Do Bridge allows people and vehicles to circulate, the contractor will also prohibit vehicles from moving on the old Ho Do Bridge to serve the repair process. The old Ho Do Bridge will have its lighting system replaced, the railings repaired, and the bridge surface resurfaced with hot asphalt concrete. The work is expected to be completed in 2023.

Mr. Tran Manh Hung - an officer of the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said: Despite some difficulties, up to this point, the Ho Do Bridge project has been completed on schedule. Currently, the unit is directing the contractor to complete the final tasks, ensuring technical traffic opening on November 9.

According to Mr. Tran Manh Hung, the project to renovate the road surface, improve the technical infrastructure of Quang Trung street from Nguyen Huy Lung street to Ho Do bridge and add a unit of Ho Do bridge after completion will not only help people travel conveniently and safely but also contribute to creating a connection between Ha Tinh city and Loc Ha district in socio -economic development, especially attracting tourists to the coastal city of Loc Ha.
