During the peak days of organizing activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory, at tourist sites and historical sites such as: Hill A1, Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum; De Castries Bunker; Dien Bien Phu Campaign Command Headquarters... every day, thousands of visitors were welcomed. At its peak, on May 6, at the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum, due to the sudden increase in the number of visitors, after only one hour of opening, at 8am the museum had to temporarily stop selling tickets and close until 9am to reopen to regulate the number of visitors.
The Dien Bien Provincial Relic Management Board and the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum have mobilized all staff, workers and recruited more volunteers to provide explanations, guides and services at tourist attractions; ensuring adequate facilities to best serve the needs of visitors.
In 2024, hosting the National Tourism Year and the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory, Dien Bien province strives to welcome 1.3 million tourists, with total revenue estimated at VND 2,200 billion. Having welcomed more than 1 million visitors, Dien Bien will have a great opportunity to exceed the target of 1.3 million visitors as the time from now until the end of 2024 is still long, with many events of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024.
