Tran Trung Kien - a 12th grade student at Le Hong Phong High School, Phu Yen - was the winner of the first quarter with a score of 235.

Among the 4 contestants competing for the laurel wreath, Kien is the only contestant who entered the monthly and quarterly rounds with a "reserve" ticket, and is also the only contestant who did not study at a specialized school.

However, the representative from Phu Yen is a highly regarded contestant with qualities rarely seen in recent Olympia competitions.

Kien has pursued mathematics since childhood and has won many mathematics competitions. Kien solved questions related to natural sciences well in the rounds.

Mathematical thinking also helps Kien have the ability to analyze, reason and make accurate inferences, an important factor for him to answer the obstacle course questions in all three rounds of the weekly, monthly and quarterly competition. Nhat Minh, Phu Duc and Nguyen Phu were all unable to do this.

Notably, Kien is not only good at math and chemistry, but also knowledgeable about literature and history. His average scores in these two subjects in grade 11 were 9.6 and 9.4, respectively.

Nguyen Quoc Nhat Minh - a 12th grade English major student at Hung Vuong High School for the Gifted, Gia Lai - was the winner of the second quarter with 250 points. This was also the highest score among the four contestants.

One of Minh's outstanding features shown in his previous 3 matches is his decisiveness. Minh often starts off unimpressively but breaks through when he takes the right to answer from other contestants as well as his smart strategy of choosing the Finish Package.

As an English major, English questions will be an advantage for Minh. However, Minh will have to compete with a formidable opponent, Nguyen Phu.

Minh is very confident in his historical knowledge, but he will have to compete with Trung Kien in this area of knowledge.

Vo Quang Phu Duc - grade 12 Math major at Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue - was the winner of the third quarter with a score of 185.

Of the four contestants, Phu Duc is the one who bears the most pressure.

Trung Kien and Nhat Minh are both the first contestants to represent their hometown in the final round of Road to Olympia. Therefore, the fact that they brought the television bridge to their home province was a great success.

Nguyen Phu is the second student from the University of Education High School for the Gifted to enter the Olympia finals. Four years ago, math major Luu Dao Dung Tri did this but did not win the highest position, nor did he make a remarkable impression.

Phu Duc is the 7th student and the 2nd consecutive year student of the school to participate in the Olympia final.

Eight years after the victory of Ho Dac Thanh Chuong - the champion of Olympia 2016, Quoc Hoc Hue yearns for another laurel wreath. Last year, Nguyen Minh Triet failed to do so.

The pressure on Phu Duc was clearly evident in the monthly round. The male student broke down and cried when he gave the wrong answer in the Obstacle Course round. Luckily, Phu Duc regained his composure to continue competing and finished with a high score, entering the quarter round as the runner-up with the highest score.

Expectations are both pressure and motivation. The math major will be a tough opponent if he can maintain his best spirit in the final match of the year. Like Trung Kien, Phu Duc's strengths are natural sciences and the ability to reason and speculate.

Nguyen Nguyen Phu - a 12th grade English major student at the University of Education High School - was the winner of the fourth quarter with 215 points, winning the last ticket to the 24th Olympia final.

The representative of Hanoi stands out with his quick thinking ability, accurate judgment and perfect competition supporting skills. One of them is the skill of pressing the bell quickly at a speed of 14-16/second. This skill helped Nguyen Phu have almost no opponents in the Warm-up round.

Statistics in the quarter finals show that Phu won the right to answer 14/36 questions, accounting for 40%. Phu's strong areas of knowledge are general science and English.
