Victory relic of Xom Muoi Nha was awarded a certificate of provincial relic ranking.

On the morning of December 16, in Me Pu commune, the People's Committee of Duc Linh district held a ceremony to receive the certificate of ranking the revolutionary historical relic of Xom Muoi Nha victory, Me Pu commune as a provincial-level relic.

Attending the event were Mr. Vo Thanh Huy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Mr. Tran Xuan Phong - Deputy Director of Binh Thuan Provincial Museum, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy - Secretary of the District Party Committee, Mr. Le Van Toan - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Council, Mr. Huynh Van Tinh - Chairman of the District People's Committee and many leaders, representatives of departments and people of Me Pu commune.

The victory of Xom Muoi Nha in village 4, Me Pu commune, which took place 58 years ago, was a memorable event for Battalion 186, Military Region 5, along with the army and people of Me Pu commune, Duc Linh district, in the resistance war against the US to save the country. That was the historic day of January 17, 1965; when receiving news that the enemy in Hoai Duc Sub-region had launched a sweep to retake Me Pu commune (our liberated zone), Battalion 186, Military Region 5 coordinated with local guerrillas to ambush, block, surround, attack, and break the enemy's sweep into Xom Muoi Nha - Me Pu commune. Our army completely destroyed 1 security company 515, 4 militia platoons, 1 rural pacification group; The enemy lost 101, including 2 American advisors, 109 were wounded, 29 were captured, 93 of various types were seized, 4 PRC10 walkie-talkies, 24 boxes of machine gun ammunition, 15,500 bullets, all military equipment and 2 HU1A helicopters were damaged. In 2012, the Xom Muoi Nha Victory Monument was built at the site of the battle, marking the resounding victory of our army and people in the resistance war to save the country. Today, the historical site of the Xom Muoi Nha victory in Me Pu commune is honored to be ranked as a provincial-level relic, according to Decision No. 2,242 dated October 25, 2023 of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Thuan province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Thanh Huy - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism requested the People's Committee of Duc Linh district to pay more attention to the work of protecting, managing and promoting the value of the Victory relic of Xom Muoi Nha to ensure long-term effectiveness. Focus on strengthening propaganda work, further promoting the historical value of the Victory relic of Xom Muoi Nha, serving the needs of sightseeing, research, visiting and educating revolutionary traditions for the young generation today and tomorrow.

Also at this ceremony, the leaders of the People's Committee of Duc Linh district and Me Pu commune said that they will deploy to specialized sectors and mobilize people to join in managing, preserving, renovating, embellishing and promoting the heroic revolutionary value of the Xom Muoi Nha Victory relic, as a brilliant milestone, the pride of the army and people of Duc Linh district.
