The project has a total investment of more than 400 billion VND, of which the counterpart capital from the budget is 10%, built on a land area of 5.87 hectares, including 5 blocks of buildings from 2 to 5 floors high, with a construction density of 23.3%.
The project includes: 1 office block, 2 classroom blocks, 2 practice blocks, a multi-purpose laboratory building and other technical infrastructure works (road system, power station, water supply, wastewater treatment plant, etc.). The estimated construction time is 12 months. When completed, the project will meet the learning needs of 4,400 students.
To contribute to improving teaching and research capacity at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City and Danang University, in July 2020, the World Bank approved a credit of 295 million USD for the Vietnam University Development Project.
Through investments in modern facilities, advanced equipment and knowledge transfer, the project will help accelerate the transformation of these three universities into regionally competitive educational institutions with advanced teaching and research capabilities.
The sub-project at Hanoi National University has a total budget of 125.18 million USD. Of which, the capital from the World Bank is 100.87 million USD and the counterpart capital from the Vietnamese Government is 24.31 million USD. With this credit, Hanoi National University will invest in construction in 3 areas with a total land area of 37.5 hectares out of the total 1,000 hectares of the campus. The investment project to build the University of Technology belongs to area 1, with a total area of 8 hectares.
The University of Technology is a member of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with a student population of approximately 10,000. Currently, 700 students (all first-year students) study at Hoa Lac, the rest study at Cau Giay campus (Hanoi), 35 km from Hoa Lac campus.
