On September 18-19, in Taipei, the Asian Center for International Health Law and Policy and the WTO (ACWH) of the Faculty of Law, National Taiwan University (NTU Law) held an academic conference on "The Structure of the 2022 Fisheries Subsidies Agreement: Sustainability, Enforcement and Beyond".

The workshop discussed issues surrounding the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies 2022. The event is part of the WTO Chairs program at National Taiwan University.
The conference attracted many experts from many countries to attend.
During the 1.5-day workshop, a series of fundamental issues related to the Fisheries Subsidies Agreement and the prospects for further negotiations were discussed in depth in 5 sessions, with the participation of many international experts from different countries such as Switzerland, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Korea, Singapore, Australia and Vietnam.
Foreign Trade University sent a delegation of 05 experts in the field of international trade, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Thi Thu Huong, ChairHolder, Director of the WTO Chairs Program at Foreign Trade University.

Within the framework of the workshop, Dr. Vu Kim Ngan - Co-ChairHolder, Deputy Director of the WTO Chairs Program at the Foreign Trade University (co-authored by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, Foreign Trade University) gave a presentation on commitments and implementation status of commitments on fisheries subsidies in Vietnam's FTAs, thereby making recommendations for the ratification and implementation of the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies in 2022.
The WTO Chair Program was launched by the World Trade Organization (WTO) Secretariat in 2010 with the aim of enhancing knowledge and understanding of the world trading system among experts, scholars and policy makers in developing countries. In November 2021, after a rigorous evaluation process, Foreign Trade University (FTU) officially became one of 17educational institutions selected from 126 educational institutions in 54 countries around the world, becoming the only educational institution in Vietnam selected to participate in the WTO Chairs Program (WCP) phase 3 from 2022 to 2026.
