The school will maintain 3 stable admission methods: Talent selection method (XTTN): ~20%; Admission method based on Thinking Assessment test scores (ĐGTD): ~40%; Admission method based on 2025 High School Graduation Exam scores (THPT): ~40%.
Thus, compared to 2024, the admission quota based on high school graduation exam scores will decrease by about 10%, but the admission quota for the thinking assessment method will increase by 10% (from 30% last year to 40% this year).

As for the admission method based on high school graduation exam scores, the school keeps the same 10 admission combinations and main subjects as previous years, including: A00, A01, A02, B00, D01, D04, D07, D26, D28 and D29.
Add a new combination K01 including the subjects: math, literature, physics/chemistry/biology/IT. In which math and literature are 2 compulsory subjects, combined with 1 of 4 subjects physics or chemistry or biology or IT with a coefficient. The formula for calculating the admission score for the combination K01 is as follows: Math x3 + literature x1 + physics/chemistry/biology/IT x2.
The admission combinations are considered equivalent.

In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology plans to enroll 65 training programs, of which mass programs (standard programs): 37 programs. High-quality programs - Elitech: 23 programs.

Previously, on December 1, Hanoi University of Science and Technology opened a registration portal for the thinking assessment test for candidates who want to use the results to apply to many universities in 2025.

Many modern testing technologies have been applied to the exam such as standardized thinking question construction technology, bridge theory in the exam, and scoring technology based on the multi-parameter IRT model.
The school also uses automatic check-in technology according to citizen identification cards integrated with the personal data management system on the National Population Database to identify candidates coming to take the exam to prevent proxy exams and exam cheating.

Last year, Hanoi University of Science and Technology organized 6 exam sessions on weekends with 30 exam locations each session in Hanoi and 11 provinces and cities including Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Da Nang; serving nearly 50,000 exams with a total of 21,000 candidates.
The exam results have been used by more than 50 universities for university admissions for the 2024-2025 academic year.
