Evaluation of the effectiveness of the project Linking commercial Lai Ho chicken farming according to the value chain in Thuong Xuan district

On March 20, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Cooperative Union organized an inspection and evaluation of the effectiveness of the Lai Ho commercial chicken farming linkage project according to the value chain in Xuan Chinh commune (Thuong Xuan) from the capital of Project 2 on diversifying livelihoods and developing poverty reduction models, under the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2024.

The working delegation of the Provincial Cooperative Union coordinated with the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan district to evaluate the effectiveness of the model in Xuan Chinh commune.

From November 2024 to March 2025, the Provincial Cooperative Union coordinated with the People's Committee of Thuong Xuan district and the unit in charge of the association, Cua Dat Aquaculture and Service Cooperative, to organize training on breeding processes and techniques, and methods of linking and consuming products in production. At the same time, 5,383 Lai Ho chickens and more than 16.1 tons of mixed feed were presented to 90 households in Xuan Chinh commune.

According to the report of the unit in charge of the association, after more than 3 months of implementation, the number of supported chickens is growing and developing stably. At the same time, it brings practical economic and social benefits to the people.

The total number of chickens distributed meet the breed standards, are vaccinated according to regulations, so they grow and develop well, and have a satisfactory survival rate. Currently, the flock has reached a commercial weight of 2.5 kg or more. At the same time, the unit in charge of the association has been promoting, marketing, and finding outlets for the people to consume the products.

The Lai Ho chicken farming model is suitable for the customs and production level of local people.

Delegates and households participating in the project all agreed that this is a livestock model that meets biosafety standards, is suitable for the customs and production level of the people, and creates jobs for at least 90 local workers. It is estimated that after more than 3 months of implementation, the average profit reached 5.7 million VND/household, contributing to increasing income and creating livelihoods and opportunities for people to develop a sustainable economy. At the same time, it is suitable for replicating the model locally.
