Demi Moore was once judged as 'just an entertainment actress'

When stepping onto the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, California on the evening of January 5 (US time), Demi Moore (62 years old) said this was her first award in a career spanning more than 4 decades.

Accepting the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for her leading role in The Substance , the actress said: "30 years ago, a producer said I was just a movie actress."

"At that time, I thought I could be in successful movies, make a lot of money but not get recognized," Moore said.

She decided to temporarily leave Hollywood to raise her three daughters with Bruce Willis in Idaho. Demi Moore was replaced by younger actors and was not welcomed back.

"Demi hasn't had any movie offers in years. You only have to look at IMDb to see that," a longtime friend of Moore's told Page Six .

In recent years, the former lead star has only received supporting roles in the science fiction television series Brave New World and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent .

Demi Moore, who was nominated for a Golden Globe twice in the 1990s, said she received the script for The Substance when she was "at her worst moment".

"And the heavens told me you're not done yet," the actress said, thanking writer-director Coralie Fargeat and co-star Margaret Qualley.

At 62, Demi Moore is on track to earn her first Best Actress Oscar nomination.
