On the evening of September 29, Vietnamese concert - the first live concert in Hoang Thuy Linh's singing career - took place at Phu Tho Stadium (HCMC), attracting the attention of the audience and the media.
The concert featured guest artists Thanh Bui, Wren Evans and Den Vau, attracting more than 7,000 attendees.
Sight overwhelms hearing
Vietnamese concert is not only a performance celebrating Hoang Thuy Linh's 13th year of singing, but also a story that she and her crew of hundreds of people told through 19 performances, arranged in stages: Khoi - Le - Thuy - Linh - Hoang.
The female singer opened with a bang with "The Eldest Daughter Runs Away" , which began to tell the story of a girl's journey to find love after escaping from her wedding, embarking on new adventures to realize that "it turns out that the recklessness of youth, in addition to giving us experience, also gives us stumbles to grow up".

It is undeniable that Hoang Thuy Linh "spent a lot of money" in her first live show. Unique ideas, stunning performances, eye-catching choreography... are the compliments that most of the audience gave to the music night.
In particular, the female singer did quite well in incorporating traditional Vietnamese folk cultural elements into the program such as images of banyan trees, lion heads, Tam, and star fruit... turning the music night into a truly colorful "festival".
There were even performances that gathered nearly a hundred people on stage. Hoang Thuy Linh constantly changed her costumes. One performance followed another, one scene followed another. Just like that, the female singer seemed to take the audience on a train, visiting her colorful musical world.
However, with a concert, the musical element of course cannot be ignored. Especially when Hoang Thuy Linh's live singing ability has always been a controversial topic throughout her many years of career.
After the noise at the press conference announcing the program, many people were even more curious about Hoang Thuy Linh's live singing ability. However, at the Vietnamese concert, most of the audience recognized that the female singer used the "singing over" method on a pre-recorded background. In some performances with vibrant choreography, it was not difficult to see that she used most of the pre-recorded tracks.

In some other performances, the audience said they could not hear her singing clearly. In particular, when singing a duet with Thanh Bui in the song " No song can describe my feelings right now", Hoang Thuy Linh revealed a thin, weak voice while Thanh Bui was completely in control.
There are also opinions that with so many performances and such a huge investment, Hoang Thuy Linh's live singing can be "forgivable". However, other opinions say that a singer who confidently organizes a concert but sings poorly live "needs to be reviewed".
Obviously, at the Vietnamese concert , Hoang Thuy Linh's voice is still a big minus point.
Missing connection and a "touch"!
Another regrettable point at Hoang Thuy Linh's concert this time was the connection between the artist and the 7,000 audience members. During the concert, she rarely interacted with her fans. Instead, the female singer played pre-recorded music and pre-recorded quotes with rather... confusing content.
Many people commented that the concert only stopped at the level of "artists performing, audience watching". Hoang Thuy Linh and her fans had very few moments to talk and confide in each other. Because of this, the Vietnamese concert lacked "touching" points during the 2 hours it lasted.

At the beginning of the concert, it seemed difficult for the audience to approach and keep up with the songs that were very familiar to Hoang Thuy Linh. The audience's effect, cheers and shouts also showed signs of decreasing in the middle of the show.
It wasn't until the last two performances , Let Me Tell You and See Love , that Hoang Thuy Linh and the audience truly came together. Unfortunately, that was also the end of the show.
The rare words that fans heard from Hoang Thuy Linh were just words of "gratitude" at the end of the concert. After the performance See Tinh , the female singer sat down on the stage and said: "I am just an ordinary person, with nothing but love for music to give to the public."

Luckily, the "mysterious" guest - Den Vau - appeared at the last minute, making up for some of the audience's expectations. This can be considered a plus point for Hoang Thuy Linh's clever calculation when she introduced the new song in an impressive way, and took the opportunity to speak up about the recent love rumors.
The 2 hours of Vietnamese concert can be said to have partly shown Hoang Thuy Linh - an intelligent performing artist, with her own unique style and serious investment in each of her products.
However, that still cannot meet the expectations that fans have for her 13 years of singing and perhaps the theme of "live singing" will continue to haunt the female singer in the next journey.
