On November 27, Mr. Nguyen Van Nhuan - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, said that the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province has submitted a document to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for consideration and inclusion of "Knowledge of exploiting and processing bird's nests in Khanh Hoa" into the list of national intangible cultural heritage.

Khanh Hoa is a land known as "Land of Agarwood - Sea of ​​Bird's Nest", the bird's nest industry in this locality has been recorded for nearly 700 years, containing unique, distinctive historical and cultural values ​​and is very important to the people, as well as the socio-economic development of the locality.

The knowledge of exploiting and processing bird's nests in the community is a valuable treasure that has both cultural value and significance for socio-economic development. Many customs and beliefs in remembrance and gratitude to the ancestors of the profession and the predecessors who have worked hard to foster development are still preserved and practiced in today's life.

Every year on the 10th day of the 5th lunar month, Khanh Hoa people hold a festival at Hon Noi bird nest island to commemorate the great merits of the ancestors who founded and developed the bird nest industry.
