Proposal to implement a project to produce smart organic fertilizer from domestic waste, livestock sludge and peat in Quang Tri province

This morning, February 21, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien chaired a working session with the delegation of Hanoi National University and the Vietnam - Czech Technology Alliance on the proposal to implement a project to produce smart organic fertilizer from household waste, livestock sludge and peat (Smart Organic) in Quang Tri province.

At the meeting, the delegation's representative briefly reported on some of the main contents of the project proposed for implementation in Quang Tri province, clearly stating the project's objectives to combat desertification and drought, restore degraded lands, green Quang Tri, contribute to minimizing the negative impacts of climate change, help rebuild the environment, expand cultivated land area, promote agricultural development, create jobs and increase income for people.

Referring to the need for smart organic fertilizers for the development of sustainable agriculture, the working group members focused on analyzing, providing many scientific evidences, clearly explaining the production process of smart organic fertilizers, and the economic and environmental benefits.

At the same time, through the survey and research process, experts and scientists found that Quang Tri province has many favorable conditions to implement the project such as having a large peat mine; having many areas of desertified agricultural land that can be utilized to improve and increase the cultivation area; having a large source of raw materials that are a source of waste to be utilized and processed to minimize the impact on the surrounding environment...

Experts and scientists from Hanoi National University and the Vietnam-Czech Technology Alliance proposed that the Provincial People's Committee allow exploration of peat mines and high-tech zones to continue surveying, researching, and planning project implementation in the coming time.

Participating in the discussion and contributing opinions at the working session, representatives of departments and branches requested representatives of the working delegation to focus on clarifying a number of contents related to the feasibility of the project in practice in provinces and cities where smart fertilizer production models have been implemented; difficulties and obstacles in infrastructure and waste treatment technology in the past; at the same time, providing information on a number of mechanisms and procedures related to the proposal to implement new investment projects in the province.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien acknowledged and highly appreciated the ideas and objectives of the proposed project, and said that producing smart organic fertilizers from household waste, livestock sludge and peat is a sustainable direction for Quang Tri agriculture and is in line with the province's socio-economic development orientation.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Science and Technology to coordinate with Hanoi National University and the Vietnam - Czech Technology Alliance to conduct research and test the production of smart organic fertilizer products based on the collection of domestic waste, livestock sludge and peat from different sources to have an initial assessment report on the effectiveness and feasibility of implementation in Quang Tri province.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien also gave his opinion and assigned tasks to relevant departments and branches regarding a number of other proposals related to the construction of the Roli Cement Factory and the official invitation letter from the Czech Republic Mineral Technology Association to invite the Quang Tri province delegation to directly visit and study technological innovation models in a number of countries in the coming time.
