On January 6, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department announced that it had just completed the investigation conclusion of the case and transferred the case file to the People's Procuracy at the same level to propose prosecuting the accused Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh (34 years old, from Tra Vinh, temporarily residing in Villa Park residential area, Phu Huu ward, Thu Duc city, model and actress) for the crime of "Disturbing public order" under Article 318 of the Penal Code.
In the same case, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department proposed to prosecute the defendant Tran Xuan Dong (36 years old, residing in District 7) for the crimes of "Disturbing public order" and "Using fake documents of an organization".
The police agency said that during the investigation, Ngoc Trinh and Tran Xuan Dong realized their illegal acts and expressed their desire to receive leniency from the law. In the case, the police seized evidence of 3 motorbikes of unknown origin and 1 flycam.
The investigation agency determined that Ngoc Trinh did not have a class A2 driver's license, but on October 6, 2023, she and driving instructor Tran Xuan Dong organized and performed the act of driving a motorbike with license plate 59A3-115.88 (BMW brand, cylinder capacity 999 cm3) on D15 High-Tech Park road, in Tang Nhon Phu B ward, Thu Duc city.
Defendant Ngoc Trinh performed dangerous driving movements, indecent postures, did not wear protective gear, lay and knelt on the saddle...
Ngoc's dangerous driving stunt was filmed, edited, and posted on social media.
Previously, in early September 2023, Mr. Dong and Ngoc Trinh organized a gathering and drove a "Ninja" motorbike on Tran Bach Dang Street, Thu Thiem Urban Area, Thu Thiem Ward, Thu Duc City. Here, these two people performed offensive and dangerous driving movements such as standing with both feet on one side of the motorbike, letting the motorbike run by itself, sitting on one side of the saddle to run by itself... These performances were also videotaped, edited, and posted on social networks.
The videos appeared on Ngoc Trinh's personal social media accounts such as: Titok "Ngoc Trinh" (ID: @ngoctrinh89; has 6.8 million followers), Facebook "Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh (The girl who eats goods)" (facebook.com/ngoctrinhfashion89; has more than 3.1 million followers), Facebook Fanpage "NGOC TRINH" (has 2.7 million likes).
The videos then spread widely on the Internet. The investigation agency determined that at the time Ngoc Trinh was prosecuted, there were more than 240 posts on Facebook, more than 650 articles on bebsite; and more than 3,000 related videos on Youtube.
The investigation agency determined that the posting and dissemination of the above videos had a negative impact on security, order and social safety, negatively affecting the awareness, lifestyle and behavioral culture of young people...
Through investigation, the police also determined that, regarding the motorbike with license plate 59A3-115.88, Mr. Dong presented a fake registration certificate No. 122678. He admitted that although he knew the motorbike registration certificate was fake, he still intentionally bought it because he saw that the motorbike was cheap.
