Proposing the Politburo and Secretariat to consider disciplining a number of senior officials

On January 10, 11 and 19, the Central Inspection Commission held its 35th meeting under the chairmanship of Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu.

Implementing the conclusion at the 34th session regarding the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and a number of related Party organizations and Party members; based on Party regulations, the Central Inspection Commission proposed that the Politburo and the Secretariat consider responsibility and discipline the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the terms 2016 - 2021, 2021 - 2026.

The Central Inspection Committee proposed that the Politburo and the Secretariat consider the responsibilities and take disciplinary action against the following: Tran Tuan Anh, Politburo member, Head of the Central Economic Commission, former Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade; Trinh Dinh Dung, former member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Party Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Mai Tien Dung, former member of the Party Central Committee, Minister, Head of the Government Office.

The individuals proposed for disciplinary action also include Do Thang Hai, member of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; Hoang Quoc Vuong, former member of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, former Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group.

The Central Inspection Committee decided to expel from the Party the following individuals: Dang Cong Khoi, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Price Management Department, Ministry of Finance; Nguyen Danh Son, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Electricity Trading Company; Nguyen Huu Khai, Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of the Electricity Purchasing Business Department, Electricity Trading Company, Vietnam Electricity Group; Tran Quoc Hung, Deputy Head of the Licensing and Public Relations Department, Electricity Regulatory Authority, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The inspection agency decided to remove from all positions in the Party Mr. Do Duc Quan, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In addition, disciplinary action in the form of warning was taken against the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for the 2015-2020 term; the Party Committee of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority for the 2017-2020 term; the Party Committee of the Electricity Regulatory Authority for the 2020-2025 term; the Party Cell of the Domestic Market Department for the 2015-2017, 2017-2020, 2020-2022 terms; the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Electricity Group for the 2015-2020, 2020-2025 terms.

The following persons: Nguyen Anh Tuan, member of the Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel; Tran Duy Dong, Party Secretary, Director of the Import-Export Department; Phuong Hoang Kim, Party Cell Secretary, Director of the Department of Energy Saving and Sustainable Development; Vo Van Quyen, former Party Cell Secretary, Director of the Department of Domestic Market, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Nguyen Vu Quang, Party Cell Secretary, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry, Government Office; Duong Quang Thanh, former member of the Party Executive Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc, Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group; Tran Dinh Nhan, former Deputy Party Committee Secretary, General Director of Vietnam Electricity Group were also disciplined with a warning by the Central Inspection Committee.
