In 2025, the Chemistry reference test is similar to that of Math and Physics with 3 parts. Part I has 18 questions, Part II has 4 questions, Part III has 6 questions.

2025 is the first year that the high school graduation exam is organized according to the new general education program. Candidates will only take 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects (Literature, Mathematics) and 2 elective subjects (among the remaining subjects studied in grade 12 including: Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology).

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, the sample exam ensures compliance with the regulations on the structure and format of the high school graduation exam from 2025 announced by the Ministry, and closely follows the 2018 general education program and mainly grade 12. To ensure objectivity, comprehensiveness, and closeness to the program and teaching process in schools, the Ministry has invited many experts, scientists, lecturers, teachers, authors of new textbooks... to participate in developing the exam.

Compared to previous years, this year's sample exam was announced nearly 5 months earlier, thereby helping schools, teachers and students to be proactive in the process of teaching, learning and reviewing to prepare for the exam.

The 2025 high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place on June 26 and 27.
