Speed up the spring rice harvest, prepare conditions for the summer-autumn crop production

On the morning of June 12, Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development inspected the progress of spring rice harvest in Tien Hai district.

Comrade Lai Van Hoan, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee visited the production linkage model of ThaiBinh Seed in Dong Quy commune (Tien Hai).

Up to this point, Tien Hai district's spring rice has ripened. Localities in the district are actively directing and urging farmers to focus on human resources and machinery to harvest spring rice. By June 12, the whole district had harvested 20% of the area; the average yield was estimated at 70.6 quintals/ha. Many linked rice varieties such as: TBR225, DS1, Dai Thom 8, Bac Thom 7 have high productivity and economic efficiency. The harvesting stage is basically applied by machine.

Reporting at the inspection, the leader of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that by the end of June 11, the whole province had harvested about 49,000 hectares/74,384 hectares, of which the districts of Hung Ha, Dong Hung, and Quynh Phu harvested 80-90% of the area.

Through a field inspection in Tien Hai district and listening to the report from the agricultural sector, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the leadership and direction of the professional sector, Party committees, authorities and the efforts of farmers to have another successful production season.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested localities to quickly harvest spring rice with the motto "greener at home than old in the field", avoiding the impact of extreme weather; focus on tilling the land as soon as harvest; encourage people not to burn straw, causing environmental pollution and limiting visibility; increase the use of straw treatment products to limit organic poisoning for seasonal rice. The agricultural sector and localities proactively connect with organizations and individuals consuming rice for people; pay attention to expanding and developing green, clean, safe and sustainable organic agricultural models.

Along with urging the spring rice harvest, the agricultural sector and localities need to fully prepare materials, seeds, and means to speed up the progress of land preparation and planting the crop according to plan and season; strengthen State management of rice seeds and input materials to ensure quality, meeting the production needs of people.

Also on the morning of June 12, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Tien Hai district visited the production linkage points of ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company in the communes of Dong Quy, Dong Long and Nam Thang to plant the following varieties: TBR39-1, TBR225, Nep A Sao, BC15, with an estimated average yield of 250 - 270 kg of fresh rice/sao. In the spring crop of 2024, ThaiBinh Seed has linked up to produce rice seeds and commercial rice with 13 agricultural service cooperatives in the province, with a linked area of nearly 1,000 hectares. To date, the Company has purchased nearly 3,000 tons of fresh and dry rice at a price 10% higher than the market price at the time of purchase.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested ThaiBinh Seed to continue to pay attention to expanding the production area with localities in the province to improve production efficiency and income for people, build rice brand and at the same time research to bring high-yield and high-quality crop varieties into cultivation, promote effective and sustainable restructuring of the agricultural sector.
